we could call it "LanaBoards Explained" or something and it could potentially fit in Lana Thoughts since some things would probably be actual info that's just obscure, but Conversation Area kind of allows it to get away with completely not true stuff

Inspired by a discussion that went off topic in the LDR9 pre-pre-release thread, here's a thread to basically discuss any Lanaboards lore or inside jokes and explain them. Also a thread to explain or reveal any obscure Lana info that is referenced but not a lot of people know the source of.

Basically Lanaboards with context.

Examples would be the sources of fake song titles such as "Mary (Scared Of Me)" or "Seafoam Nova" or the many "-gates" such as Chickengate or Glittergate.

This user was known for giving out false "insider information", and sometimes being incomprehensible. They were eventually banned for posting a snippet to a song that was slated for release. You may still see this user lurking with a greyed out username

 

***The user also mentioned an obscure "French Husband" figure that most people assumed was fake, the husband allegedly worked with a music company , and was used as an out-of-sight authority figure in their trolling.***

 

They are still mentioned as an inside joke to this day, usually in reference to fake insiders.

Sylvia gets namedropped as much as "Mary" does. I'm guessing the name refers to poet Sylvia Plath? Lana possibly mentioned her on Social Media? Or maybe their creative themes are similar so she gets brought up? Anybody know?

I believe it was from one of Lana's Instagram videos where she did a reading of one of her poems lol I can't remember off the top of my head which poem it was (and of course Lana's main Insta is gone now) but I think it was specifically the way she said "Sylvia" that made it into reference here

Boardians started saying "Sylvia..." in 2020 after Lana posted a video to her ig of her reading the poem patent leather do-over, which starts with her saying "...Sylvia...". It looks like the originator of the meme was @littleredpartydress when she joked about lana doing a live lounge performance and reading her poetry instead of performing her music:

Was looking up "Glittergate" and found there is already a "lore" thread, but it doesn't seem to have explanations, simply people naming random events. Merge? Or should this stay separate

@bluechemtrails I was going to make a post on that, was gathering the images for it. It's a bit tricky to word-search just "she". Guessing it's simply meme format from the infamous blonde selfish used for the BB singles

On January 3rd, the LDR9 Speculation & Discussion Thread experienced a short-lived but memorable event coined “SlimeGate.”

 

After a barrage of slime-related content and discussion during one of this site’s more unhinged periods (notably prior to the infamous lustforlife’s banning), the posts were eventually moved to their own thread. 
 

Although it may be considered a less prominent “gate” in the history of LanaBoards, some still have engrained remnants of memory from this former era.

"She/Her"

 

 

 

"She" or "Her" refers to a specific selfie that I'm guessing Del Rey posted in 2020, the year the personal "photoset" was taken, or either in 2021 for the promo of her at the time upcoming album "Rock Candy Sweet".

 

 

User @shadesofcrazyforyou frequently refers to this selfie as "she" or "her". A melodramatic title for a (slightly) unconventional Lana selfie (at the time). At peak "Karen" allegations (2020-2021) Del Rey sports blonde hair (the COTCC era), little to no makeup, a tan line, and an "Aloha" tacky bead necklace 

 

Shades eventually made a thread, for subsequent she/her shitposts to be placed in. The first few replies seem to be a little confused, so I'm guessing Shades coined this meme-ery around February 2022. It has stuck with the boards since and even has an emoji/smiley (unofficial)
