I'm going crazy cause there's a part in Kintsugi that sounds so much like another song but I don't know which one :icant:

When she goes high and loud in the part about people not knowing the songs she sings.

I think it's another Lana song but I'm not sure :thumb2:

Spoiler

It lowkey reminds me of looking for amercia when she sings “its just a dream i had in mind” but im not sure

I'm not sure if something had said this about Kintsugi before... chances are I'm the only dumbass who thought of it but,

Spoiler

The "Daddy I miss them" melody reminds me a lot of Girl Crush :eartha:

The way people complained about Chucky making birthday cake but really what she was doing was creating a sense of familiarity between the listener and the people she loves, so a line like the one in Kintsugi hits even harder. So much love for Chuck :cryney2:

Love this.

Yes, I really never understood the hate for her opening her world up to us. She is human, she has grown and evolved. Her artistry is more open and honest now than it used to be. It only made/makes sense she includes those around her in it.

Idk, I always loved the insight it gives/gave. Plus we all have people in our own lives that we can still relate the stories/situations back to.

Ocean Blvd: Virgo, "in a world preserved, only a few have found the door, it's like Camarillo, only silver mirrors runnin' down the corridor"

Sweet: Libra, "if you want someone then just call me up & remember where I'll be, sweet in barefeet"

A&W: Aries, "do you really think I give a damn what I do after years of just hearing them talking?"

Candy Necklace: Scorpio, "& I'm obsessed with this, all his candy necklaces"

Paris, Texas: Gemini, "when you know, you know- it's time, it's time to go"

Grandfather: Capricorn, "I know they think that it took somebody else to make me beautiful as they intended me to be but they're wrong"

Margaret: Pisces, "like Hollywood & me, that diamond on your ring, the soul that you bring to the table"

Taco Truck: Leo, "imagine if we actually gave a fuck, wouldn't that be somethin' to talk about for us"

& yes I left out Kintsugi n Fingertips (as well as the interludes for obvious reasons) despite them being two of my very faves on the album cause 1) there are only 12 zodiac signs anyway  but also 2) there is just so much going on in those two songs n honestly they are ultra personal to Lana yet also SO UNIVERSAL so i could never figure it out,,, not saying other songs aren't also but you know what...im not explaining myself further.. #ifyouknowyouknow:thumb:

Exactly! Even when she's super specific, she still manages to make it really relatable.

Omg yesss. Now that we’re already used to it and expecting it I don’t mind it at all vs BB where it really bothered me.
If she’s writing songs this vulnerable and personal then idc. She can go ahead and mention family and friends by name. It deff makes it hit harder now.
also just like how relatable… a lot of times some people will choose to not be there when someone dies because they feel they can’t handle it. Then later on they often have regrets about that. I definitely do.

Yep, nail on head. Idk, there really isn't another artist that I follow that can do that for me. It is something very special. We get a very real feel/connection into her world but at same time relate it back to ours. It's not something many could pull off, very rare. Nowadays especially.

So, how many songs made everyone's top 10 LDR songs ever?

For me,

Spoiler

Taco truck

Ocean Boulevard

that's a huge achievement

Also, these two are in top 25 for sure:

Spoiler

Grandfather,

Paris, Texas

anyone have a few right up there?

The 1-2 punch of

Spoiler

Kintsugi and Fingertips really is astonishing. The fact that she explores such profoundly heavy topics in such a delicate way on these two tracks is some of the most beautiful songwriting ever created.

And then the fact that half an album later she has us shaking our asses to Peppers and xVB and it seems like a natural progression is genuinely wild LOL

What are the three things

Spoiler

Chuck was there when three loved ones passed away, whereas Lana could only be there for the third because it was too hard for her. :crai:

Following the theory that every last 3 songs have similar sound to the next album, we should expect a new pop album for ldr10 and I’m here for that:defeated:

l4l: heroin, change…—> NFR

NFR: happiness, hope…—> Cotcc

Cotcc: for free…—> BB

BB: sweet Carolina…—> Ocean Blvd

Ocean blvd: PEPPERS 🫑 TACO 🌮 TRUCKKKK—> ldr10?????
