Tf we talking about American Horror Story on here? I-stay on track children..anyway Ocean has to beat Honeymoon as the masterpiece of masterpieces. Sonically HM is amazing and theres so much power in her lyrics and delivery-she loved HM and its obvious, and now we have Tunnel and she's so happy again.

Honeymoon to me will always be her best. To me, it's the quintessence of her style, world and vision. It is true that NFR is more ''mature'' if we talk about songwriting growth, but the world she built with HM to me is unbeatable

Look at how the charges of racism have swirled around her; and like all such charges, no fact, no reality, no act or acts of Lana's could or can do anything to change them in her enemies' minds. They want to believe she's a racist, it makes everything else so much more convenient; no further argument is needed.

Consequence of Sound review that counts for Metacritic.

Quote

The ninth studio album proves that Lana Del Rey is still one of our more interesting storytellers

Lana Del Rey’s music exists in the liminal spaces, which is why it doesn’t feel consequential what she, as our narrator, thinks about a Hollywood megachurch leader. With this album, she’s doing something more akin to what great photographers do, which is capturing, sharing, and allowing us to decide for ourselves.

After a pair of dual releases in 2021, Chemtrails Over The Country Club and Blue Bannisters, …Ocean Blvd is a welcome return to form for Lana Del Rey.  There will never be another album like the masterwork that is Norman Fucking Rockwell!, and that’s what makes her 2019 album so very special, but …Ocean Blvd puts Del Rey at least in the neighborhood.

Spoiler

Taco Truck x VB is definetly one of her most brilliant and memorable tracks. What a true privilege to have this song and Lana.

“Kintsugi” begins with an incredibly compelling lyric but the song gets lost in the following six, sleepy minutes. https://consequence.net/2023/03/lana-del-rey-ocean-blvd-review/2/

Nah, soz. Her titles are better. And not pretentious, just more poetic / cinematic, e.g. Paris, Texas

I wasn’t posting that with the intention of making "better" titles. It’s just a what if…thought. Maybe it came off differently. I don’t mind most of the titles except for the really long ones.

They didn’t lie. This album isn’t a particularly accessible on first listen.

Judah Smith Interlude will be my most likely skip for me. Reminds me too much of my Catholic upbringing :awkney:
