You guys are confused, Let The Light In was the song they compared to MAC not Grandfather (they also compared it to religion, if I'm not mistaken)

When you listen to grandfather you will understand why it could be compared to it. It doesn’t sound like but it has similarities. Personally i never listen to MAC but i think grandfather is breathtaking.

The only things Grandfather and MAC have in common are the nautical imagery in both. Completely different songs in structure and songwriting. Just like Sweet is completely different from Love Song, despite both being love songs.
