But now that it's getting colder, and the leaves are falling, and skies are brighter...I'm falling in love with Chemtrails. It's the perfect album for a walk tbh i loved it when it came out but what made me actually appreciate was a spring morning walk on a field tbhhh

AnarKissed 281 Posted November 25, 2024 In Greil Marcus' book Lipstick Traces: A Secret History of the Twentieth Century, he traces a fascinating history of modern art, mentioning notable art movements including dadaism, situationism, lettrism, and futurism. The first time I saw L.D.R. in concert, I was in such a state of ecstatic intoxication that I sensed that what I was seeing on stage was a visionary culmination of the all the historical stages of art from ancient times up till now. And now, with the advent of the new Amerika-USSA, I am reminded that the futurists became fascists when Benito Mussolini came to power.
Make me your Dream Life 89,667 Posted November 28, 2024 So, strange parallel, but. I’ve been thinking how cool it kinda is, that I’m connecting this but. they used to have me sing as a front person in church. And I was kinda raised on hymns etc. but I just really love how Lana incorporates her religious background w her stuff from before, imagery lyrics and even sing styling infused. It kinda humanizes the experience for me strangely enough and I just really love and get inspired by that. Cus, being gay, and coming from that kind of background, it kinda feels like I’m not as alone when it comes to the realm of singing, and that I can reconcile both halves, when I just can’t relate to family’s pov’s sometimes. I’ve come to make my own kind of spiritual perspective that I like to think might be broader than the typical outlook. Cus maybe if the God of the bible can overlook those and forgive them in it, maybe the runt part of my soul might just be ok w that kind of level. Obviously the whole gay thing and the world of it but. Something I think about when I reconcile both halves in me or parts of me rather. Some songs just feel like home when I feel a bit too ostracized ir just can’t relate, despite wanting more of the traditional. It’s a nice portal to stay in sometimes.

helloheaven 622 Posted December 2, 2024 I was listening to brooklyn baby in the car with my gf yesterday and started thinking about the line “I'm churnin' out novels like Beat poetry on Amphetamines”. I write myself so this line got me thinking—has lana ever written in a longer form? when she was younger, did she write any novels? has she written memoir pieces? it’s extremely likely she’s just evoking the imagery of famous beat poets like kerouac and burroughs. i do think that brooklyn baby is a character/vibe evocative of her home state, not necessarily about lana’s own life. still, i’m a huge reader and would totally read a lana novel. imagine her writing fiction during the aka era…a book about the girl in gramma or the queen of the gas station

It's basically showing how the general public crucified her for her performance at the SNL and got criticized for her stage presence and live singing during the Born To Die tour in general and it's basically Lana having a "last laugh" how she's headlining Coachella now.
Embach 46,936 Posted December 2, 2024 I was reading this old British Vogue interview bit with Lana from October 2011 where she was asked about Video Games being used in many fashion shows and look what she said: Quote "I had no idea about the fashion shows," she told us. "But I think they chose Video Games because it embodies summertime sadness. Fashion is inspired by youth and nostalgia and draws inspiration from the best of the past. I think both the song and the collections touch on the light and the dark side of life." This was the very first mention of "Summertime Sadness" but as a 'description', she thinks that Video Games embodies summertime sadness. That's a really awesome connection between these! I loved her answer!

giveheavenatry 121 Posted December 8, 2024 August and fall of 2019 were one of the best times for me to be a Lana fan. I mean, we got an amazing teaser for NFR, several songs and a then an album, which I fell in love with instantly. She performed Daddy Issues, Wicked Game and Tomorrow never came on tour, which felt absolutely surreal because I love these songs and I could only dream that she would perform them. And the fact that she sang with Zella Day on one stage?? It’s still crazy to me. It was an amazing time to be her fan.
rancidgirl 5,775 Posted December 8, 2024 i know this thread is going to get deleted but i need people to know i just found out (and hope im not the last to) psycho lifeguard isn't one title because she said ocean blvd original title had SIX titles and psycho lifeguard being together would only make it five titles Ocean Blvd, Pearl, Watch Me On, Ring A Bell, Psycho, Lifeguard 3 Quote the last rancid girl in a rancid world and i don't seem to mind
Beautiful Loser 50,176 Posted December 8, 2024 I thought it had all those words as one title and that’s why Neil said she’s crazy for considering it? Quote At first, the title was definitely going to be Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, and then I fucking panicked and I went to Neil’s house and said, “I know this is fucked up, but I’ve changed the title. It’s going to now be called, ‘Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd Pearl Watch Me on Ring a Bell Psycho Lifeguard.’” He was like, “What the fuck?” I was like, “I’m not telling anyone. Just mock it up.” He mocked it up, but we realized that maybe it was a bit much to have six titles in one. Source 2 Quote LB DEMOGRAPHICS SURVEY 2024

Source no that’s not what she means. She isn’t saying that the album was just ONE of those, she means that the album is ALL of those but psycho and lifeguard are two separate entities and not one title. It’s not Psycho Lifeguard it’s Psycho and Lifeguard
