I personally find it very beautiful when Lana sings about her family. She's not just providing insight into her own world, she's also encouraging us to contemplate those people in our own lives. A lyric like "my grandmother's last smile" is so powerful because how can someone hear it without considering their own grandmother's last smile? "Charlie, stop smoking" doesn't just make me think of Lana's brother, it makes me think of the people I love who are smokers and wish they could cut back too. "Chucky was there for three out of three" makes me think about rushing back to my hometown for my dad's final days. I think people get a lot more out of her lyrics when they find ways to relate them back to their own lives. Lana is a magician and she's very much placing these thoughts in our head for reasons that go beyond her in my opinion, she's just doing it in the way that is most personal and meaningful to her.

This. I always find artists making their work ultra personal just makes it more relatable. It’s real emotions, and real life concern. Makes you think and reflect

does the intro of margaret remind anyone of the lakes by taylor swift a bit

I haven’t heard the lakes, but Margaret as a whole sounds like it seriously could’ve been Taylor’s song in the folklore era. I can just hear her singing it.

Might be an unpopular opinion but Peppers is the worst song on the album for me! Also, why is it named Peppers, doesn’t even make sense. It just bothers me

Because of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Probably the only post I will do in this thread but, as I still think Peppers is overrated, it's also a vibe  I no longer hate it

anyways favourites are Let the Light In, Taco Truck and title track probs. The ones I'm just not into at all are the interludes.

Vulture’s review. It’s a rave.

Metacritic used to count their music reviews, but apparently not anymore. :(

Has the MC score changed? It's been stuck for me with 15 reviews.

they don't accept that Margaret is the song of the year. :oprah3:

Maybe if Margaret was the only song ever released this year
