okay so as you can tell by my profile pic i'm a big fan of the X triology lol, X reminded me so much of Texas Chainsaw Massacre which is one of my favorite movies and Pearl reminded me so much of a Hollywood tragedy that we all can relate to, or at least i can (if you exclude the murders lol), dreaming of leaving your small town and hoping to do bigger things then your parents, it kinda reminded me of that girl who jumped from the H, the cinematography it's so good too i think Ti West is amazing and, of course, Mia Goth is out of this world i truly believe she's Oscar material

im super excited for Maxxxine and the first movie still just dropped 

 

i actually saw a bts of this scene being filmed in the last two weeks i think, there are tons on tiktok, this made me super excited i have big expectations

when Pearl came out i rewatched the movies in chronolical order (Pearl and then X) so when Maxxxine will come out i will definitely rewatch the first two movies in chronological order, it feels so satisfying tbh

honestly i was kinda worried when i saw that Halsey and Lily Collins were gonna be in it (Lily Collins is good but Emily In Paris traumatized me that's why i was worried )

but then i think about what Ti West said about giving actors chances to play roles they never have because they were stuck in type casting, like Brittany Snow, her role in X was something she had never done before she absolutely killed it, so i have hope the same will happen with them, hopefully they'll surprise me

Watch Lily’s extremely wicked, she’s so talented, but I agree with the emily in paris part, this type of acting makes me cringe every time

I am so fucking excited for Maxxxine, but Halsey? I don't like her acting uhhh. not even in her own movie.

X got me back into horror after about 8 years, and Pearl is just so good. My new comfort movie

I can't wait for Maxxxine! X and Pearl were both fantastic movies in their own way - so different but so complementary. I also adore Mia Goth ever since Nymphomaniac (aka the times where you'd only find paparazzi pictures of her and Shia when you'd search images of her  yes I'm still bitter, it's like she couldn't exist on her own).

 

It's really interesting how you can sense that she helped wrote Pearl, like there's so much fragility and vulnerability among the dread and horror of Pearl's killings. It's such a refreshing take on the horror tropes (like you usually endure atrocities through the eyes of the victims instead of thoroughly exploring the killer's mindset). 

 

Plus, the aesthetic of the movies is always on point, it might be dumb for some but it's important for me 

 

Anyway, I'm soooo excited to see how and where the trilogy ends!

I didn't follow news closely about Maxxxine but are there clues about the premise of the movie?

I was thinking about X's ending and the policemen talking about the camera and imagining what it contains so I wonder if it'll have an impact? After all, Maxine is the sole survivor of the massacre which makes her the prime suspect...?

 

I know they technically couldn't retrieve Bobby-Lynn's body so both girls would appear in the porn film while being absent on the crime scene, but from what I gathered, Maxine pursued her career so she would be in the public eye, authorities would notice she's still alive. 

 

Maybe I'm thinking too much but I don't think that last scene was meaningless.

What I find interesting is the blonde hair and that I can't see her freckles. Maybe it's for a movie role, maybe its just a look she wants, or maybe it's her disguise because she doesn't want to be connected by police to what happened in X. But I also can't see Maxine using a different name and pretending to be someone else? Idk, maybe she's fine with that. 

But the blonde hair also reminds me of how Pearl hated blondes. Maybe this is symbolic of Maxine really being different to Pearl.
