LoreleiLee 1,303 Posted September 9, 2015 (edited) Some of my drawings are a bit sick, disturbing and monstruous, some are deliberately distorted and with malformed proportions, to accentuate the character's trait, emotion or overall atmosphere. I like to play with the tension between Eros and Thanatos, and, the theme of beauty and the beast or all in one is my obsession. I also deal with anxiety, melancholia, hysteria or other psychical and mental states, which are mostly symbolized by a female creature, like queen, nymph, damsel in distress, goddess, mythical hybrid, wounded vixen. Polarities hunt me, like dichotomies between virginal and slutty, innocent and ripe, sadism and masochism, bestiality and vulnerability, angelic and diabolic, ethereal and carnal, male and female, jin and yang. I explore those dark, ominous, sticky caves of human psychic labyrinths, shadow self or demon within, palpitating on a vicious, sinister, grotesque, acid-soaked harph, or infernal oriental tambour. Some drawings are artsy and minimalistic, some are more elaborated and detailed, like illustrations. ...............
