It set such an ambiance and environment so quickly too, only for it to just become so bland and sort of one note halfway through. I think that’s my problem with a lot of the songs, they have a nice build and then either don’t go anywhere or just default back to that same drum slapping acoustic guitar noodling that just sounds extremely pedestrian and…amateur? Idk. I don’t get what sound they were going for. It’s not quite fully folk, but doesn’t lean into any of the sunshine pop or psychedelic pop influences enough. It’s just like at this weird middle line that leaves it sounding like yogurt commercial music. that being said the path is still my favorite moment by far solely because her vocal performance is great and saves the song.
