I love the fact that she sings in Spanish :flutter:  When I heard "His Parliaments on fire" I thought oh, no, not again (like in BE and SS I'm on fire)  but then I read about the cigarette brand... that's such a great metaphor for smoking :defeated:

loving this song

Only real disagreement I have is the first prechorus. Mine:

Down on the West Coast, they got a saying
If you're not drinking, then you're not playing
But you got the music, you got the music in you, don't you?

Down on the West Coast, I get this feeling
Like it all could happen, that's why I'm leaving you for the moment
You for the moment, boy blue, yeah, you

You're pulling hard, I push away
I'm feeling hot to the touch
You say you miss me and I wanna say, "I miss you so much."
But something keeps me really quiet
I'm alive, I'm a lush, your love, your love, your love

I can see my baby swinging, his Parliaments on fire and his hands are up
On the balcony and I'm singing, "Ooh baby, ooh baby, I'm in love."
I can see my sweet boy swaying, he's crazy and Cubano como yo, my love
On the balcony and I'm swaying, move baby, move baby, I'm in love
I'm in love (I'm in love), I'm in love (I'm in love)

(Mic, check one, two
Get it girl)

Down on the West Coast, they got their icons
The silver starlets, their queens of Saigons
And you got the music, you got the music in you, don't you?

Down on the West Coast, they love their movies
Their Golden Gods and rock 'n' roll groupies
And you got the music, you got the music in you, don't you?

You push it hard, I pull away
I'm feeling hot and on fire
I guess that no one ever really made me feel that much higher
Te deseo cariño
Boy, it's you I desire, your love, your love, your love

I can see my baby swinging, his Parliaments on fire and his hands are up
On the balcony and I'm singing, "Ooh baby, ooh baby, I'm in love."
I can see my sweet boy swaying, he's crazy and Cubano como yo, my love
On the balcony and I'm swaying, move baby, move baby, I'm in love
(x2)

I'm in love, I'm in love

Both of my parents are Cuban, i am ethnically 100% Cuban. Though i was born in America, i was raised in a Cuban household, learned Spanish before English, was immersed in a specific Cuban community

Official or not, I'm still hear "Queens of Saigon" every time, and it does rhyme with "icon" better than "cyclones".

Isn't it a sadly welknown fact that the official lyric booklets always get it wrong?

Is Lana Cuban?

I knew she was speaking Spanish. I'm Spanish but I didn't understand her, LOL. It's beautiful to have a spanish quote :)

Lana said she picked the name "Lana Del Rey" at least in part due to the influence of some Cuban friends down in Florida, so that could be the connection.  Maybe true, maybe she made it up.... :)
