Phoenix, AZ @ Ak-Chin Pavilion - May 14th, 2015

This show was a mess. A damn mess. Not on Lana's part, but on VIP Nation's and Ak Chin's part. They accidentally sold 27 VIP Gold package tickets (which are meant to come with a seat) with a GA pit ticket, and since gold is more expensive, they let all 27 people go in front of the group of Silver VIP ticket holders that had been there since the day before.

Ok that's what I was thinking. WTF that's unfair.

Of course I suppose no compensation was offered.

@@kik They let the people who bought the Gold with pit tickets decide whether or not to keep that ticket, or trade it out with a seat. But since most of us bought the Gold ticket because it was the only VIP package with the pit (or at least it was during presale), we chose to keep the perks of Gold VIP with the pit. It definitely sucked for the Silver people who were waiting all day, but that was no reason to yell at the on-site hosts like some of them were doing. It was a mistake, and a fair amount of them were front row anyway. 'Twas a mess, but at least everyone got to see Lana up close and personal.

@@buster Just tried contacting the host, she said to contact VIP Nation. So I did that, they said that my host would have the answers. Looks like my experience is gonna be a surprise? Wish me even more luck.

I had already bought VIP Pit tickets, well my friend and I did, for Atlanta on the ****14th, then we decided we wanted early entry and I called Live Nation and she said we can enter with our Gold VIP package, then we can use our VIP Pit because we don't want assigned seats. She said it isn't a problem at all. How was your experience?

Ok, this is what I've been trying to find out so I'm just going to copy and paste LOL!! Thanks

****We didn't buy tickets on the 14th, we bought tickets for the concert that is to take place in Atlanta on June 14th****

We went to the Dallas concert on May 9th, and were told that it was postponed and our tickets for Dallas were still valid when it would be rescheduled, then on May 30th, I received an email stating it had been cancelled. Then, I purchased tickets for the Atlanta concert.

I've been trying to find people with Gold packages to ask, but maybe you'll know some of the answers.

I'm going to the Atlanta concert June 14th, My friend and I already have VIP Pit tickets, but bought the Gold VIP Packages for early entry, plus the Silver is sold out, so Live Nation said we can still use our Pit tickets.

We haven't been to a concert in years, except for the Dallas concert which didn't go as planned.

Can you give me any information on what to expect please?

Like, do we need to get there early? They said we will pick up the Gold VIP's at the venue.

What was included in the gift bag?

How soon do Gold enter the Lounge before Silver?

Do they let Gold enter the venue before Silver? (Like I said, we're still getting to use our Pit tickets even though we have assigned seats.) And if so, how soon?

If we have to use the restroom, will we be allowed back in our spots?

What was the preshow party like?

I apologize for so many questions...just really excited!!! And if you can think of anything I didn't ask, I appreciate any information.

Thanks in advance

  1. Ok, sorry I'll try to explain. We bought VIP Pit tickets, not silver or gold, Then we decided we wanted early entry so we purchased the gold vip packages. I called Live Nation because the silver packages were sold out and they confirmed that even with the gold package, we can use our vip tickets and enter when the other gold members enter and are escorted to their vip box seats except we will be escorted to the pit. She also confirmed that we would enter before the silver package holders, I just wasn't sure how soon before we would get to enter before the silver package holders but I'll just call LN and ask because she said if I had any more questions to call any time.

See how our Pit tickets have VIP stamped all across the front? That's what I meant by Pit VIP bc when we had these in Dallas we got to enter the VIP Lounge early and got extras kind of like the gold or silver packages but no merch or food, but a really cool lounge with bars and a DJ and flatscreens, AC and strobe lights.

@@mjsmith033 This is intersting. I am going to explain this but don't take my word for it. When you get your email from VIP Nation, call your host (probably Natalie) and verify this. So, here goes.

Those VIP pit tickets are offered by someone else. Chances are its from the venue. Those VIP tickets you have will offer incentives that they offer, not VIP Nation. I think you know this but your VIP tickets are not the same as Silver VIP.

You also have a Gold package and that offers early entry with a seat. Yes, you will enter the venue before Silver but they will escort you to the party and merch table. You will stay in there for a while. While that is happening, Silver VIP people will have a different wristband that is numbered and will be lined up by number and actually walked over to the pit in a single file to the pit by Natalie and security. After that, Gold will be sent to their seats.

I know they told you that you will be allowed into the pit and you will - that part is true. However they will will not let you line up with Silver for early entry. You will need a Silver package for that. You will be allowed into the pit after Silver is let in because you don't have Silver VIP, you have regular VIP.

Again, don't take my word for it. Call your host. Who knows, maybe you can sneak by but if its Natalie, she doesn't play games. Anyhow, good luck. Either way, you are gonna have the best time. :)

Thank you. and they have told me several different things and emailed me, there;s some confusion because they told me I would get to go to the pit before silver and I don't know if it's because I had vip pit to Dallas and it was postponed then on May 30th we were told it was cancelled and by that time the silver for Atlanta were sold out. So we got Gold and they said we could go to the pit before silver so idk??? I'm so confused now...Maybe they feel sorry for us LOL, but they told me that and on the phone it said phone calls were recorded so I wonder if I can give them the time and date of the call and they can review it? It was June 4th, the day I bought them and that's why I paid 700.00 for those 2 packages because I was told that so I hope they honor it.

In Dallas, we had the same tickets and had early entrance and VIP Lounge and early merch viewing so that's what confuses me... they put our tickets in these at the VIP entrance and we never waited in a line, just parked and walked right in and there was a DJ and it was so cool!!

@frankestrella What ever happened with the mix up? I read that it was their fault. but can you give me some details about what happened?

I was at the Dallas concert and drove 18 hours roundtrip with my childhood friend, I'm sure you've heard about what happened there :(

Anyway, they told us for weeks that it was postponed and our tickets were still valid, we had VIP Pit tickets, so we waited and waited and waited...finally on May 30th, i get an email stating that the Dallas concert has been cancelled and we would be refunded. I finally found VIP Pit tickets to the Atlanta concert which will be Sunday 14th, a 10 hr roundtrip, we're ok with that, but we wanted early entry so I got online to purchase Silver VIP Packages but they were all sold out. If we had known about the Dallas cancellation sooner, maybe we would have had time to purchase them,So I purchased 2 Gold VIP Packages and called Live Nation to make sure we could use these for early entry and still use our Pit tickets, she said that wouldn't be a problem...we didn't want the box seats that come with our Gold Packages, nor a refund, we just wanted to use our pit tickets. She chuckled and said sure, it would be fine since we had paid so much.

I'm just wondering how you got from the Gold lounge or show or whatever it is, and met up with the Silver to gain early entry? They all have me so confused and your situation sounds closer to ours than anyone else,

Please help...any information or light you can shed on this subject for me will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

@@mjsmith033 This literally happened to me at the Phoenix show except I had a Silver VIP ticket and my group was first in line at the venue, so they let all the Gold package ticketholders in front of us because they "paid more", and we got nothing in compensation even though they advertised the silver package as being the only VIP package with a GA pit ticket. They'll let all the people with VIP Gold Package tickets into the venue first and if you were sold a Gold package ticket with a GA pit ticket, you will be let into the pit ahead of all the silver VIP ticketholders (which is kinda messed up on VIP Nation's part because Silver Package was the only package supposed to have GA pit tickets)

The confusion is you get into the venue before Silver because of the party. As soon as they get all Gold in, they line up Silver. Once inside the venue, Gold has the party and Silver is walked to the pit. The agent surely got that confused. Both packages give early entry but Silver is strictly pit and they get into the pit first.

You should get your email from VIP Nation with instructions about 3 to 5 days before the show. The cell number of the host will be on there. Call her and ask to be sure.

@@Blue Jeans@@mjsmith033 What happened in Phoenix was an isolated incident. That was Ticketmaster/Live Nation's mixup. Ask @franestrella about this. They sold Gold Vip as pit. It was a big mixup and just awful.

@@mjsmith033 I was at the Dallas show and remember that Low T VIP place on the grounds. Did you have Silver there? If not, when did they let you go to the pit?

@@buster I went to hell and back with VIP Nation to try and figure out what the hell was going on. It happened at a few other shows but our show had the most people who had the Gold package with pit tickets. I'll forever be salty about it lmao my group and I had that show planned down to a tee - we bought wristbands to keep track of line order and everything. Like we were the first ones there, we had no idea the Gold package thing even happened until hours before the show. So we essentially camped out for 50 hours to be 28th, 29th, and 30th in line bc VIP Nation is shit.  Fantastic show, but it was ran so poorly.

@@Blue Jeans I heard about it. It sounds awful. The earliest I have lined up for Lana was 3:30am so I feel your pain. It is a lot of work and planning to do it so I know all about it. It is fucked up what happened. I only heard about this happening in Phoenix. Had not heard it happened elsewhere. Its not in this thread but @franestrella recounted his experience and he had Gold VIP but was assigned pit because of the mix up. I know in this case, it worked in his favor and not yours. I think VIP Nation had to make an on-the-spot call to resolve this. The fault belongs to Ticketmaster for mixing up the packages. What a nightmare. Sorry this happened to you but I am happy you got to see her.

@@mjsmith033 's situation is different. She purchased a VIP pit ticket from the venue, not Live Nation. The venue offers perks that Live Nation doesn't but early entry into the pit or your seat is not one of them. Live Nation doesn't recognize the venue's VIP site meaning they don't offer anything to them unless they bought a VIP Nation package. That is why she bought a Gold for early entry. The problem I am seeing is that when they allow her early entry for Gold, she will get Gold incentives. If she shows them her VIP pit ticket, Live Nation won't recognize it. I went to 5 shows and again, Natalie [VIP Nation host] really holds down the fort. Gold and Silver receive different wristbands. They checked ID and tickets and wristbands at every turn. Silver was walked in a single file to the pit after being put in line in order by number. On my side, it was the most organized situation I have ever been in and I have been going to concerts since 1984. It was pretty amazing how organized it was.

@@buster @@Blue Jeans I would have bought Silver VIP Packages but it was May 30th when I received an email about the cancellation of the Dallas show, until then from May 9th, we were told it was just postponed. I still have the email, (I was an accountant, title clerk and business owner for 12 years, so I have a habit of keeping records of any documentation as long as they seem necessary) the phone logs, with date and time of the conversations, and the names of the people I spoke with.

So, by the time I was informed about the Dallas cancellation, the Silver VIP Packages for Atlanta were sold out. I was told that by purchasing the two Gold VIP packages, and with my VIP Pit tickets, we would be allowed to enter the venue before Silver, this was on the 4th, the same day that I purchased the Gold Packages from Live Nation. I informed them that I did not want a refund for anything; I simply did not want to use the assigned seats that come with the Gold tickets. She said it wouldn't be a problem, and we would be able to enter the venue before Silver, and would be escorted to the Pit. She was very nice, and even laughed a little when I told her I didn't want to use the assigned seats. She said, "Oh, you have 2 tickets?" I said, "Yes, we both do, but we want to use our Pit tickets" and we both laughed.

Also, at the Dallas concert, I didn't purchase Silver or Gold as far as I know, I did pay 971.00 for two VIP Pit tickets so, it's possible I did. We 'were' told they were all access, though. There was a mix up with my tickets also, first I was sent the wrong seats but they were Vip, and was told that the correct tickets would be waiting at the venue, (I did receive my VIP parking pass) then while driving to Dallas, I received a phone call and was told my tickets would be delivered to my hotel the morning of the concert. Again, we received the wrong tickets, this time they WERE Pit, but not Vip, so I called and was told to ask for Morgan, and our names would be on her Vip list. We didn't get to the venue until 7:15 so we just walked right in, no lines by that time of course. But the VIP Lounge in Dallas was AWESOME!!!! There was a DJ, flat screens, 4 bars, air conditioned sections, sofas, strobe lights, fog machines...very club like. We literally parked about 12 feet from the Ice House VIP Lounge entrance.

We're not constant concert attendees, the last concert I saw was in 2004 and it was Kiss/Aerosmith, and before that was my daughter's 13th birthday in 1999 to see The BackStreet Boys.   Haha!!!

My children are finally grown, and have careers of their own, so now I'm finally able to do things for myself again. No more ballgames, cheer leading, ballet, karate...it's like a new world for me after all these years. So needless to say. this is all kind of new to me, and that is why I seek the advice of you experienced, hip, wise, Lana fans!!! I am a huge Lana Del Rey fan, and she's the only one I'll pay, or travel to go see. And you guys and given me so much knowledge about what to expect at a concert. Thank you all so much for being patient with me, I appreciate each and every one of you that has taken time to explain things.

Next for me: Australia!!!  :)
