my favorite is Pop 2 because of how simple and perfect it works with the sound of the album

 

my least favorite is Charli mainly because the gray shadows as the background paired with the text on the side makes it unpleasant to look at

Hate Charli cover. Sucker clocks a second for least fave for sure. Just like....both covers don't feel they look like her. I get like....XCXUncannyValley experience.

I think Crash comes in as my fave? But N1A/TR/HIFN are all fighting for second place. Depends on my mood.

Relistened to True Romance today and I thought about how Jay Park’s verse on unlock it & Brooke Candy’s verse on Cloud Aura were similar levels of bad BUT at least Brooke Candy fits & makes sense on Cloud Aura

I think most of it is because it replaced midnights on the album, I like it on the mixtape but there are so much better TR outtakes that could have been there instead.

I’m sure it was just added to try and capitalise off a feature which in retrospect I don’t think has aged that well if you compare monthly Spotify listeners Brooke Candy (300k) and Charli (15m).
I don’t wanna come across like I’m dragging Brooke or anything I haven’t heard her music and I don’t know anything about her but I just think that’s part of the reason, it’s not really a beyoncé on telephone moment.

this! Apparently Midnight was switched last minute to Cloud Aura. Is not a bad song at all and I agree it fits better the mixtapes and when u compare Midnight with CA its agressive af… literally don’t know what they were thinking to commit such an heresy like that

Yeah. Brooke hasn't really gone anywhere. She's had these flash-in-the-pan moments for me (Volcano, Juicy Fruit) but on the whole, she's a little....niche. Probably back in the day with a much less certain career trajectory and execs pushing their artists respectively a feature track had more weight than a solo.
