"Some Things Last a Long Time" by Lana Del Rey for "Hi How Are You Daniel Johnston?"

Recommended Posts

It's a short film so it's only being premiered in a few art galleries. It will be available for digital download but I'm not sure if there will be a physical dvd version for sale as well.

I think that we can extract the song out of the digital download. I hope someone buys the movie and extracts the song

do we gotta good guess at when she recorded this? Cause idk why, but the way the guitar is being played really reminds me of the way Barrie plays, and didn't Barrie donate or do smthg with the movie to get into the credits? I could be crazy, but maybe it was a duo, him on guitar and her singing back when they were a thing? :toofunny:

Beautifully sung with a tempo at or exceeding DJ's.

Here's the original:

It's interesting that LDR perseverates the form of the chorus at the end (at least that's what I hear), whereas DJ changes it up a bit to make his despondency seem even more despondent.

At the end:
what DJ sings          what LDR sings
Some things last a lifetime  x 2 ==> Some things last a long time x 2

This would be a mistake on LDR's part. Or perhaps some deep philosophical feminist statement?
