I have plans on reading Owl from Allen Ginsberg and other Kerouac books. After reading OTR (it's the first beat book i'm ever reading) I will watch the film. What books you guys recomend, why do you like the beat generation? Let's talk about it . Did someone saw Kill Your Darlings? What you guys think about it? I saw it a few weeks ago and it was because of it I started reading On The Road, I was fascinated with Kerouac and Ginsberg world and I felt the need to read their books. They seemed, I don't know, so real. They kinda made a revolution at that time and I found it amazing. Intriguing Penguin 867 Posted January 30, 2016 I'm a pretty big fan of the Beat Generation. I have all of the poems published by Allen Ginsberg in one book. I've read Howl, a few times in my life. On the Road, is one of my favorite books ever. It's such a great book. The movie I stopped watching 1/3 way through because it just didn't hold my attention like the book did, and Kristen Stewart is ew. I've read The Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac and I have, Town and City by him also. I've also read William S. Burrough's The Naked Lunch and Queer. Burrough's is probably the most unique member and writer of the Beat Generation overall. Kill Your Darlings, was a good movie but some say it was historically inaccurate I'm not sure. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Even better than reading their work is listening to their recordings of the original authors reading them. I read Howl a few times, i have a book called Howl and other Poems so i read some of them. I have On the Road but haven't read it yet. As for the movies i watched On the road and i really liked it. I am not a big fan o Kristen's acting skills but i liked her in this movie. Also saw Kill your darlings and liked it and Howl starring James Franco. There is an amazing animation of the poem featured in the movie someone posted it, i quoted the post. Also i posted a poem today on my blog called Howl which was inspired by Giensberg's.
