oh jeez someone really needs to do a masterpost on all the stan drama. i see little references to pizzagate and doja cat getting cancelled i'm so confused

made a thread about it here to get the spirit of lgbt+ pride going waay back. n just some of it's real funny. if anyone wants to enlighten us pls do so:

So. as a recap. can we just get the facts straight? 

 

- she name dropped bc she liked those artists. she comments trying to better elaborate what she meant. 

- secondary post. She's got control of her story. if the women she mentioned don't wanna b associated its fine by her. 

- it seems like Ariana may have reached out. Ariana still follows her on insta. did she ever follow her back? 

- Lana and FKA never followed each other. 

- twitter running.

- someone deactivated their insta account bc they got put off w Lana. 

- there was a group chat, with still no cohesive/full screenshots of the conversation. 

 

points:

- she's allowed to express herself. there are women that feel like they don't have a place in feminism because they might be overpowered by stronger women. 

- not racist, she actually loves the artists, and was probably looking for support. 

- she just wants to express herself and not feel like she's being turned into someone who's hysterical for wanting to do so. 

- there's a difference between knowing who Lana is on a personal basis, and being a fan. of flippin course, but just to reiterate. 

 

So. for those reading the thread regarding the previous happenings/ updates. is there anything else to add? if anyone wants to quote me, can we keep it more factually based rather than surmising? i think it'd be good to just try and get everyone who wants to get up to speed, up to speed w/o having to glean thru the 50ish pages if they didn't want to.

On a positive note: somebody I follow posted these screenshots back from when she met Lana at work in the day of her concert in Portugal last year (the girl said she was really nice and that she was very happy that the concert was sold out, and they got a picture with her at Intimissimi but sadly not at her store). I honestly want to remember Lana like this. The fact that the singer in these photos is the same one that is in the middle of this drama gives me some hope that this will calm down and she can get back to a happy state of mind.

Call me blind fan whatever but I’ve been seeing people mocking Lana statement about “3rd wave feminism”. “Third wave is over” “we’re in the fourth wave fifth wave!!!!”

 

But I’m like did y’all just google third wave/fourth/fifth wave saw it on google results and came up with that? The third wave is in hot debate because there’s no clear goal or even its existence at all but a small part of the second wave movement. Whereas the so called “fourth wave” or tech wave of feminism is under the same fire because it excluded a large part of the world with no proper access to technology. 
 

In a lot of ways, “technically” Lana is correct again. People keep pushing the narrative that she’s “ignorant” but..... she’s not?

We have all known the feeling of depression or being down but putting on that happy face for the world. I know Lana has had to do this sometimes just being famous. I am a fan 100% because of her voice and songwriting and sensibility. She is beautiful but I don't have a crush on her and am not "in love" with her. BUT her natural beauty and SMILE is a big part of her mystique or whatever you want to call it. Whenever I see pictures of her smiling it always warms my heart. When she smiled in the "Love" video I remember I was bowled over with happiness. She has that affect on people.  I have said in many of my videos we all just want her to be happy.

Not buying it. A happy, content Lanz wouldn't've posted the initial statement in the first place. She's obviously been stewing, and she seems to be struggling to let it go because she keeps logging back on to say more about it.

I'm in no way a specialist so somebody correct me if I wrong, but I agree with you. Historical/social topics like this usually take years to properly classify and study. We can't make science out of abstract periods that just happened (and a couple decades or years in history is VERY LITTLE in the general panorama). I'm not saying who is right because in my POV everyone can be right about this as long as they explain themselves a little. If scholars don't agree with each other on topics like this one (I'm pretty sure there's a bunch of articles and books about all kinds of waves and they all disagree on certain aspects and limits and definitions), let alone us.

Yeah but it’s just annoying to see people dragging her for that when she probably did more research on feminist movements because of her book than these random hoes on twitter who probably look at the first results on google and quickly typed up their drags.

I'm legitimately confused as to why some of you are taken aback by any of this behavior. She's literally always been a fiery person on social media against those that she doesn't like ("it's coming you little bitch" "GO F**K YOURSELF" etc). I would also be pissed off at fans that were 1)including me in their private* convos 2)saying things about my mental health whenever I'm clearing just voicing my opinion (just because someone is less reserved than usual doesn't mean something is "wrong.") This is just the Kayne comment except she worded things less eloquently. Clearly she's always had harsh commentary about how people perceive her (FMWUTTT, MPG, Sad Girl, etc.), except for once she said it without any irony or metaphors.

 

*private as in these accounts discuss things or post comments about her as if she'll never see them even though she clearly lurks their accounts. Even if the mental health comment was directed towards her, it still seems really odd to think that she has suddenly snapped or something.

with all of this I can only say that the caption she edited about her chilling is so aggressive in a way and it disturbed me even more. also, imagine being famous and posting a “controversial post” that gets you shit on and hated, then to post another statement of the sort and then go to your dms to talk to your fans only to find out that they’re questioning your mental state in such an ugly manner. lana had every right to lash out on them. from this mess I can take away that it is CRUCIAL that we take away the artist from the art. I was up till 5am last night worried for her and I even got nauseous thinking about everything so this was a good lesson to learn from. I’m still deathly worried for her and I’m sure you guys are too

Ultimately no one can take away from the impact she’s had on people’s lives, she’s touched and saved so many of us like no one else. I don't think it's the Grammies, I think it's that she got those amazing reviews for NFR from critics who used to shame her for her past lyrics and for being too 'stereotypically feminine'. I don't remember her name but there was one critic in particular who she attacked on Twitter when her NFR review came out because that same critic had been super shitty to her in the past. Same with Anthony Fantano btw, it's ironic seeing his video on her statements when he's one of the people she's talking about.
