Snow Tha Product talked about I Scream so many times (on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc) and only ever blamed the label (which she's no longer apart of) for not letting her release it.

 

I really don't think her own label drama has anything to do with Melanie

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Melanie is that bad. I've just noticed there were a lot of negative things that were said about her behavior around the time when the song would've been produced, so when I saw that quote from Snow, I assumed it was most likely referring to Melanie, and not just Atlantic.

You're right, I was mostly exaggerating, and she has a decent amount of released music. But to me, most of that music hasn't aged very well, and is passed over by most adults, making it feel a bit irrelevant at times. Her movie was also pretty disappointing outside of looking pretty, and it made back less than half of its budget in ticket sales. She's hardly on the level she could've been at by now, but her visuals, creativity, and style are undeniably leagues above most artists these days, so she'll always have a unique place in the industry even if a few of her projects aren't her best. I'm not trying to be an asshole, so I should have been gentler with the wording in my original comment for sure.

But I totally get you! You're right in pointing that out. The film definitely suffered the consequences of the situation overall (budget, creative direction changes, bad acting etc.) and it shows, and well, it's also true that her music doesn't age pretty well. Her bops are still there after years, but production feels dated now. Both Cry Baby and K-12 + the audience is also an important element. Tbh, us people who were here when she released CB (and I was a teenager back then) are 7 years older and, at least personally, I grew out of that aesthetic/style at some extent. That's why I insist that what we've heard from MM3 is a step in the right direction, so I hope she really goes into it fully this era.

Hopefully she is able to do something with this album because it does feel different from her previous output.

You're totally fine, discussions are what we love here and you made good points! I definitely agree with you on the leaks, too. So many of them are inarguably her best material, and a full album of that would surely be a hit with the potential to outsell her past works.

 

MM3 is going to completely reinvent her career in a lot of ways, and bring a lot of new fans to the table with her new style and visuals less reliant on the vintage/babydoll aesthetic. I just can't really see it being a failure if we get anything close to what we've been expecting. Now she just needs to go ahead and release something on schedule, lol.

not to mention the Hawaii house she is always renting costs around $2500 per night in the time of the year that she is always choosing for her lil getaway... when she spent a month there last year i remember the price per night was over $3000... so yea, here goes the jewelry money that most people consider to be kept safe in a piggy bank for her future project even tho she never actually said that, the "i need money" thing was when she talked about NFTs... and before someone jumps me - I found this house completely on accident, I ain't a stalker but this fact is stuck with me for almost two years lol.

$3000/night? Jesus, lol. Not sure why some people are so allergic to funding their lifestyle with actual jobs instead of taking money from others. 

 

I and many people donated to her for the Dollhouse music video, and I'm sure there are still plenty of fans who would be willing to help support her if she would just be honest about what the money was for. She's not helping herself out lately with all this secrecy and weirdness.

yea, also when she started to send depop purchases it turned out she has a whole company? like she has an actual corporation, used for idk what but i am guessing many artists do, and apparently she got the covidussy money twice  at least that's what stan twitter has to say, i think it was called MM222? it was on the bill included in each package

It's weird for me to think that we're still going to get crybaby outtakes, it's like, we're running out of stock, are there going to be some final versions, studio versions, songs or demos from the album or something else, I mean Mirror Mirror legends, Animal Crackers, Toy Chest, Shadow Puppets and others, but I don't think much else is missing, 9 Songs is what is missing in my opinion. I think at this point the leakers will give more K-12 stuff, shitty snippets or random After School stuff, maybe sessions.

Ngl I don't know where y'all hear some of this stuff, lol. I don't think she has a business or corporation at the moment. If she did, I don't think there would have been hand signed thank-you cards, and I doubt she would be doing weird things for money if she already had a business to be making money through, but who knows. You could be right with how crazy things have been with her lately

no, i dont mean like a company that is making and selling products, like an actual thing like that. I dont know much about companies/corporations/partnerships and all that, but i think that it could have something to do with tour/k-12 stuff. Check your messages, I dropped u a link tho.

It makes me sad because I feel like Melanie could have achieved Lana-level of fame if she consistently put out music.

 

I don't think she has any motivation for new projects and has no idea how to break away from her Crybaby character.
