Those comments are gross. I HIGHLY doubt that she was being groomed by Levine, and her music has always had a lot of themes like homewrecking, inappropriate relationships, chasing men that aren't yours/you can't have, etc., so there's nothing new there.

 

It does make me think more about some of her music, though. She's talked about having a good life and never being abused, so it starts to seem like she's creating trauma-fanfiction and selling it to victims with certain songs. For instance, she wrote Teachers Pet to make a point about teacher/student grooming. But the way she filmed it was creepy in unintentional ways, and did we *really* need that plotline? Luckily most of her music isn't like that, and her intentions were good, but it's still triggering at times. Especially being made by someone who says none of those things ever happened to them.

 

Anyway, this situation is really saddening for me as a lifelong abuse victim, and something that could affect her and her career very seriously if people don't chill out. I'm sure she's tired of being dragged into people's abuse allegations too, so we should respect her enough to not make shit up without evidence.

It is EXTREMELY bad... twitter stans went too far with this, no matter how much satirical it was supposed to be, it is crossing a line that should've never been crossed in the first place. And with all respect, ignoring the damage it can cause to Levine himself, they should think about what type of impact it can have on Mel's image. They really didn't learn a thing after TH situation, did they? People very often don't even try to look for proof  "Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth", and some will blindly believe it. Something like a harmless joke does not exist when it comes to such matters including two actual people that additionally worked together when one of them was still a minor. Just had to dump it here because it was heavy on my chest for the past couple of days.

The only true K-12 outtakes that leaked are Eraser, Glue Stick, and Papercut

I remember her saying the album was completely finished in 2017 but it took two more years to release it because of the film. If she recorded anything from 2017 to 2019 was After School or even earliest sessions for MM3, so if that was true, I don't really think anything from 2017-2019 was a K-12 outtake.

Yes, actually K-12 1.0 photos that leaked including the tracklist and the first album cover were done spring 2017, march-april to be precise. The first two photos (nurses office and the one where she is coming out of the board) that leaked back in 2018 were dated around this period of time, coming straight from the photographer. Also Eliseu aka Johnny was posting a loooot about working with Mel around that time, Elita was also a common visitor at Mel's crib.

Nope, it was exactly the same thing, the whole shoot was only about the official K-12 tracks, so we can assume that Atlantic approved K-12 around the end of 2016/ beginning of 2017 and since then it was officially the album we know now... crazy to think that it was all ready for almost (or even) 3 years before it actually got released, the fact that by the time of its release Melanie was already in a completely different creative mindset... wow

this is soo disturbed and almost gives the same vibe as the girlies whove used serial killer for fan edits of actual killers… 

like i understand discussing songs and their possible meanings but pushing the idea of someone being groomed onto a real person as fact, based on and only on speculation and not bothering to mention it’s speculative (especially as a melanie fan since she’s always made music about dark topics to begin with) just so you can make some cutesy half assed edit of abuse they endured or in this case possibly endured to a sad song and tag it #fyp so you can get likes.. is a bit deranged!
