i just heard the whole set, and it was the longest hour of my life everything was a bunch of remixes and samples without any cohesion, a real disaster.
Charli is an amazing singer and composer, AG a great producer but they don't have skills as DJ's, i was expecting something much better and enjoyable, but i ended up bored waiting for it to end soon.

i do feel like we need to talk about this instead of avoiding it. this is the most disappointing thing i’ve ever seen lana do,
as sad as it makes me i think i wanna take a small break from listening to lana 

Just to clarify my own position, I only started to realise what was really going on about 4 days ago.
I did not start with any particular opinion besides "war is bad and taking hostages is bad". I started to feel stupid for not understanding the context of what the news was reporting, and felt a bit cornered by people showing disbelief over people taking no stance when genocide is happening. So I decided to read for 1-2 hours, and sure enough I started to see what pro-Palestine movements are talking about and why this is so desperate.
So for those not sure what is going on. PLEASE READ. Please start to notice what your news is reporting, the language they choose, if they report news from both sides, etc. And read past the news too.

to pretend the hate sam gets is not for the fact theyre fat and non binary is very disonest. it really has nothing to do with the way they dress by itself, its the fact that they are dressing like that while being fat. nobody says a thing when its a skinny/muscular man doing it.
the same goes for their current music. is it good? no. but the amount of hate they get is just completely disproportioned, and its only bc of their appearance, you never see this type of vitriol being thrown at ppl who make much shittier music but are inside the beauty standard.

i really don't care for matty but i don't particularly care for rina either lmfao. mind you he's already publicly apologized but was what matty said on adam friedland's podcast appropriate? obviously not. was rina's response justified? debatable. and just because charli knows the two of them apparently she's automatically implicated? like imagine your friend gets into some drama with your partner's friend and it has nothing to do with either of you but your friend is expecting you to like potentially put your relationship on the rocks to involve yourself in the drama that they themself escalated in the first place lol ... i'd be annoyed.
 
i understand if somebody is like an extremely harmful individual then there should be an expectation for people to disassociate themselves but my personal belief is that the bar for what is actually extremely harmful has become ridiculously low and it's so trivializing for people who are affected by truly horrible shit. just because charli is dating matty's colleague and wants to remain amiable doesn't have to mean that she agrees with every single thing he says or does

like she said kim is exceptionally talented. she also just recognizes, based on the reviews and probably twitter, that kim is in a phase that she has been in before too with sucker! to me it felt more like “she’ll be fine, she’s talented”
 
also, keep in mind that she might know some behind the scenes stuff. especially the last part of the message makes me think that. maybe luke did force kim to make this album? etc

i get your point tho i just think it wont be that easy for her to bring back that quality without her main and unfortunately very important producer

I think my instincts are usually pretty good as to who is going to be successful( as a consistent hitmaker) tbh and I just don’t see it for Kim- she needs to reign back it into her fanbase and evolve with the trends. 
 
same with the reason why the vroom vroom label failed- no investment or correct talent picking was chosen for anyone to succeed.

I remember when the Dream Logic mix first dropped… I was up early in a hotel room out on the west coast. I’m listening to XCXOPLEX for the first time and I’m looking out the window, out over the city, and a shooting star shot across the sky, as the song was ending. 
 
It was too perfect, a magic moment...    I remember posting about it here actually, after it happened.

now that you mention this i feel like we should have a moment of gratitude. we have the incredible privilege of hearing music that we were not supposed to hear, and even compared to other pop musicians we have so much leaked music. charli is such an angel for embracing her leaked music, especially xcx world because we know how tainted that period of time is in her mind

Thinking about how spoilt we are with leaks, like leaks for rappers will often be group buys for $1000usd or more, and then sometimes one person buys it and it never sees the light of day

one day i'll open this thread up while it's trending and it'll be because of new music. one day

Marina gave us several bodies of work- artists tend to have a shelf life  maybe she could pivot into creative writing or something? 
 
Honestly some fans on twitter were quite vile to her on a daily basis so I can see why she snapped- not everyone can compartmentalise like charli
