Considering it’s moved past trying to “hold someone accountable” (which was clearly never the intention of the people launching this attack) and moved into harassment and bullying territory I’d say you’re correct.

i, for one, think to go on a witchhunt and forcing someone to apologize for beliefs they held (not even beliefs, just things they said and did) as a kid or as a teen, especially when they have clearly outgrown them and consistently shown the opposite, is weird

Right. She collaborated with a brand that raised 30k dollars to abolish ICE by selling a shirt with her name on it (as well as many other artists). It’s not even her that I’m side-eyeing at this point (other than the fact that she refuses to address anything, she’s definitely trying to avoid Barbara Streisanding herself again) it’s the fact that her fans are so quick to dismiss everything as being “not that deep” when it is actually a very deep rooted issue!
 
With that being said I’m still very excited for the album loool

It’s just wild to me you can look at a post she made years ago that says “build the wall” and think she still holds that opinion considering all of her political beliefs (which she shares regularly and are completely correct most of the time).

im seeing some interesting takes in this thread about her tweets and i will say this Yes people can grow and become better but she 100% should say something about it if it was her or if she didn't if even slayyyter can  take some accountability for her racist tweets so can the woman who wrote and produced house in nebraska and waco texas

real ones remember when ppl tried to cancel her over tweets like 3 years ago and nothing came of it. cancel culture is annoying people say dumb shit and change their views or learn better later.

At the end of the day I think she’ll be fine…. plenty of bigger stars have done far worse. It wouldn’t be bad for her to address the situation but considering a large majority of the people going after her are terfs who deserve nothing but the worst I understand not wanting to cater to their whims…
