I will not tolerate national anthem slander
no slander intended, i love me some national anthem…. but i just *know* there’s a certain subsection of the internet ready to DRAG HER if she plays that song during trump’s presidency and we’ve suffered enough as a fanbase

IYLDWM is a fab and fitting surprise for the 4th of july so i def can’t be mad at it
but here’s the thing, i think when people talk about surprise songs and wembley getting preferential treatment, it’s not so much that we necessarily need different “surprise songs” every night of the tour, but just that the setlist has no surprises whatsoever - and by that i mean, remember how pleasant of a surprise it was when PWYC was first added to lana’s setlist? the excitement of hearing that at your show, or, if you kept up with lana’s setlist and didn’t avoid “tour spoilers”, knowing you were gonna hear it at your show? PWYC wasn’t a “surprise song”, but it was a surprising addition to the setlist when it was first added. same with black beauty, diet mountain dew in 2023, etc - the addition of these songs (and others like it, i’m sure you guys can think of better examples i’m a little tired!) made the shows/setlists feel much more imaginative and colourful and, well, surprising! like @motel six said, nobody would be upset with wembley getting a few fun surprises/additions if the other shows had strong setlists, but as we saw, people were unhappy with the setlist (rightfully so imo). and again, the fact that she added these songs just shows that she does have the time in the show to do them, and playing a song she’s never done before just shows she *can* rehearse and add new songs if she wants to…. she just doesn’t want to
(i do still think it’s absolutely fkn crazy that she didn’t bother doing YNWA at anfield tho)

if you lie the fuck down with me… wow…… pulling that one out for 4th of july was a genius move, im kinda relieved she didn’t do national anthem, maga allegations officially BEATEN

as we approach lana’s final performance of this lil tour, i just wanna say that despite all the shit i’ve talked about the shows themselves, i’ve had so much fun in these threads and they’ve really cheered me up and given me a laugh during a difficult time in my life! i swear lanaboards is the funniest it’s ever been rn
but yes i’m gonna really miss having these threads to look forward to reading in an evening! love u guys! can’t wait for the album announcement tonight so we can relocate to the pre release thread

no YNWA…. no miles kane guest appearance…… not even a beatles cover………. i’m not the type of person who necessarily believes that artists have to change up their set lists every show of the same tour or have a new guest come out on stage every night but when the setting is absolutely perfect for it and the opportunity is there……. but then again this is the same woman who has never performed ‘california’ in california so why am i surprised

so surreal to think i would’ve been there rn
instead i’m watching jojo’s bizarre adventure and eating haribo starmix

hope everybody has the best time!!! <3

“Here's some good news - Lorde out of the way. You wouldn't think Lana would announce anything around her PR campaign. Goes for her TBA gig as well.”
Thats what has it leaked said yesterday. I don’t really understand what that means
i could be wrong, but i *think* they're saying that it's surprising lana would announce anything while lorde is promoting her album, and that promotion includes her "TBA gig", which is likely a reference to lorde performing a surprise set at glastonbury this weekend (her set is listed as "TBA" on the line-up).
i'm not sure if they're referring to what lana said last night as an announcement, or if they're trying to hint that lana has an announcement coming up and it's surprising in the middle of lorde's PR cycle? though i'm not sure why lorde would be a threat to lana's own album campaign, i love lorde and there's some crossover in the fanbases but lana is a much bigger force than lorde so

I hope there was nothing special last night because ya gal got too drunk, was sick in the pit and had to leave before Lana took to the stage
ffs lol
omg nooo but tbh lowkey iconic behaviour queen... you didn't miss anything in particular by the looks of things, no fan request this time! at least you'll be at liverpool when she brings out miles kane to perform dealer and sings you'll never walk alone #manifesting <3

i should’ve put this money towards another artist i love rather than lana, no shade but 3 hour trip for me and over 100£ spent to only hear 3 new songs i haven’t heard live by her plus some covers is just like what
i’ll have the best night still, but in retrospect it’s not what i expected her headline stadium tour to be like
but this is ittttttttt i absolutely feel you... you're gonna have a great time while you're there but like, i totally get what you mean. im super super super broke so i knew i could only afford to go to one big concert this year - i was torn between beyonce, gaga and lana but i chose lana bc 1) my friend wanted to go and he's never seen her before 2) i love her lol 3) she advertised the tour alongside her """new album""" which was supposed to have been out by now so i thought i'd be gutted if i loved the album but didn't get tickets to its tour 4) i thought she'd be switching things up because not only was she supposed to be releasing a new album but also it's her first ever full on stadium tour so i assumed she'd be pulling out all the stops lolllll how wrong i was
ultimately i've had to sell my ticket but i have such a pang of regret bc like... i coulda seen beyonce!
so i really really feel you. im sure once you're there you'll enjoy it tho!

So she came on stage about 9.25, left stage about 9.55, came back on about 10.10, left again after 10 minutes, came back again for like 15 minutes and then left again at about 10.40.
Made it seem like the show was 9.20-10.50 but really it was from like 9.25-10.40 and she was off stage for about 25 minutes of that 1 hour and 15 minutes
so like 50 minutes worth of actual show.... oh my......

yeah! if i had gone to the liverpool show as planned, i would be so upset seeing how sparse my show was compared to the london shows and like you said even cardiff
i do wonder why lana doesn’t pull out some more exciting openers/support acts. i quite like banks but i don’t think the majority of lana fans would be jumping at the chance to see her; at that level of success and CERTAINLY at that ticket cost, surely she could call on some slightly more enticing support acts? london grammar are cool and quite revered in the uk scene but i still don’t think they’re as good of a shout as addison. raye might have been a good shout, maybe even miles kane since most lana fans are somewhat familiar with him now? father john misty? wildcard pick but maybe even willow who recently opened for childish gambino and absolutely smashed it? fuck it, give the opening slot to ceechyna idk… just thinking out loud
ngl it’s gonna take one hell of an album (or, more realistically, one hell of a setlist change) to get ticket money outta me next tour
