WTF happened at the middle of the title track?

The way she sings, the rock production, everything is TOP NOTCH

I need her next album to be either rock or at least half of it, she sounds spectacular.

Am I the only one who prefers this album to her debut? Also I love t.A.T.u. vibes in NDA.

Happier Than Ever title track is a fucking SERVE… that transition is deadly and she did what she had to fucking do.

this album evokes so much emotion, it’s like a rollercoaster in the best way possible. people don’t appreciate it as much because it lacks the sense of a “body of work” all her other albums have but i appreciate that there’s something for everyone in this and i feel like every section of it transitions well into the next. the wide variety of genres represents each emotion she’s trying to convey from the aggression of cherry, white mustang and in my feelings accompanied by the hard hitting hip hop beats to the shoe-gaze inspired whimsical production of tomorrow never came, heroin, get free which represent escapism and letting go of the past.

as a whole the album feels like it’s a symbol of liberation and i always look back at having good memories with it.

heroin. perfect combination of her beautiful storytelling that reflects her personal life and cultural references

this actually makes a lot of sense, the loser and man-child comparisons seem parallel and she's never really belittled a guy in her song other than in my feelings and nfr. calling him a poet and saying "your poetry's bad" could also be a subliminal metaphor for his raps that he presumably writes.

Happy birthday, Lust for Life! What an amazing record, one that I think helped solidify Lana’s status as one of the greatest songwriters of all time. I really admire all of the heart and soul she put into the record, which is ultimately reflected in its diverse sonic landscape and classically Lana feel.  Its lyricism is true to Lana’s creative identity but is fresh in its clarity of inner dialogue and reflection of global affairs. And the memories I have attached to it are forever dear to me - it reminds me of mid-July, hot summertime ☀️🍦

Heroin is my favourite song from the record and remains one of Lana’s most brilliant tracks, as well as one of my favourite songs of all time. Can’t believe it’s already been 4 years! 🍒🪐

happy birthday lust for life!!! I'm so sorry this fandom shits on you all the time even though you're supposed to be lana's gift for the fans, you're one of my favs, it really was a gift!!

underrated, iconic, full of stories, cohesive in its own way, a gem that gave us some of lana's best tracks, beautiful cover, beautiful length, nice collabs, sexy bops, beautiful music videos and aesthetic, rick nowels, dean reid and emile hayne

finally I'm crossing the treshold from the ordinary world

Happy birthday to this misunderstood gem!! I've always thought it's lack of cohesion is what makes it narratively cohesive. It's like a journey across worlds, from one sound to another, as Lana transitioned into a new musical realm of her career. I think it's beautifully realized from start to finish.

This album also came out ten days after my dad died and I was feeling really weird and not myself at all until I went to the beach and listened to the album for the first time. It truly brought me back to myself, and I'll never forget the sense of peace and relief I felt as the ocean sounds at the end of Get Free closed the album.

Both Lana and Jack are to blame so they're OVER.

We can only hope Lizzy Grant and David Kahne/Steven Mertens return to save us

She specifically said she asked Jack if COTCC could hit harder and his response was to strip it back even more so i donnnnnt know that we should assume this. I think its evident no matter what your "position" in the studio is, unless you are the producer making the music, someone else is going to be, atleast partially, in charge of the sound as well. In Lana's case she doesn't really know how to produce alone.
  25. new gods liked a post in a topic by Honeyyoung in Blue Banisters - Pre-Release Thread
y'all need to stop putting the "blame" on everyone but lana. SHE is also a producer in her tracks. SHE tells her producers what she wants the album to sound like. SHE has the control over her art! ultraviolence came out the way it did because Lana and Dan fought many times and a lot of the production decisions were made by him instead of her, so LANA was the one who wanted the sound to be more stripped-back and SHE wants the sound to be more stripped-back now.

ballads with other producers have been fuller in sound? yes, but because SHE wanted to. and we can see now that in this new era the songs are mostly stripped-back ballads because she wants to, NO MATTER THE PRODUCER.
