I very much disagree with this tbh. Some of my favorite albums now, were albums I needed time with to understand it both sonically and lyrically. The most frequent one was St. Vincent’s.
 
I feel like this album will be the same for some people, it’s definitely a grower

But I’m a Lorde fan and really love this album. She always releases albums that almost exactly mirrors my own life at the same time so that’s a bit strange, but maybe that makes them feel more personal to me? Like I also enjoyed Solar Power

I got a lot of shit when I said her last three albums sound too similar and I miss her “every album sounds very differently thematically” -era  (BTD-UV-HM-LFL etc)

this album is phenomenal actually. oh wow. i did have to make my own tracklist order though, this one flows so much better sonically for me

I mean you’re not wrong. I don’t particularly love LFL but I’ve warmed to it recently and there is some great tracks on there.
 
NFR- Ocean has been too similar, even if I do love some of those albums.
