I didn't expect to love her work as much as I did when I first found The Blackest Day on a sad indie music playlist on Spotify back in 2020. I was depressed and her music was like this big fur coat that kept me warm through those dark times. No matter how bad things were and how much I felt like I had no one, her songs (and this website) made me company and it wasn't really like a full escape, I learned how to live with the dark things in life, how to turn sadness into something beautiful. I don't connect that much with her music anymore, I'm in a much better place, but she was the soundtrack of my teenage years, so I'll always be grateful for that. Lana was very important in my life. I can't even imagine how would have things turned out without me joining her beautiful dark city.

i feel a little nervous about your girl km mix 11 tbh. ive tried sooo many different times with so many different references trying to get this song right but i can never fully grasp it  until i eventually generate a version im satisfied with, this is one of the best versions i made

maybe it's a cop-out to say, but i genuinely do not believe it was ever possible for me to not have discovered her music, sooner or later, i surely would've, and i do believe i was meant to discover it, it was written in the stars

ultraviolence is so heavy most times i genuinely cant make it past sad girl. i love every single song and theres a song on ultraviolence in literally all of my playlists but this is so real. the guitars and lyrics and her vocals on this record (whilst i adore them) make me feel so low sometimes  ESPECIALLY cruel world and idek why because its not the song on the album i thinks the saddest but it hits me so hard 

This is actually crazy 😭😭 Maybe I’m biased cause NFR is my favorite record of all time but I don’t see how NFR comes off as produced for a mass market? What “product” has songs like Venice Bitch or Hope is a Dangerous Thing on them? I feel like this take is heavily influenced by the fact that it did end up being her most successful record, but I feel like it’s very clear it was never intended to be such a popular record. Using LFL and Chemtrails as examples of unique records makes me laugh too since LFL was actually a record that was supposed to kind of be a Born to Die 2.0 and she went in trying to make more pop songs. And Chemtrails is literally half NFR outtakes and in my opinion she was trying to hard to replicate NFR success with that record. Idk I mean you can have your tastes and I think it’s ok to dislike the record, but I fully disagree with this take.

Basically, it's a whole different world entirely in my eyes, and I'll be a different man when this album drops lmao

Blue Banisters - Ocean Boulevard eras feel like a blur  how tf did we get stagecoach and then we're back to this

remember when people could appreciate POP music for the actual music and not the deep emotional suicidal desperatelly hopeless lyrics. i mean the girl is literally singing over 70s and 80s inspired cheesy electronic pop beats. and the slower more melancholic songs like adult girl and metallic stallion arent written bad at all. theres like 2 introspective moments on the album and then the rest is upbeat fun catchy pop music. let it be what it is and not insult people for relating to the songs 

If I wanna listen to music with deep, introspective, “well-written” lyrics I have other artists for that, not everything has to be like that and Marina has mostly written like this her whole career so I really don’t know what the shockers are about this album cycle.

I genuinely feel sorry for you and anyone that takes these lyrics seriously
