True Romance will always be her best personally- Vocally? Her peak, she used autotune on this album respectfully on songs like Nuclear Seasons whilst also displaying beautiful natural belts on Stay Away, Take my hand.

Production? peak- didn’t strive for too much of anything except beautiful layers of sound descending from the heavens.

Songwriting? peak-

forgot to mention this- but venice film festival lineup should be announced on the 22 ( I've also heard dates between the next 1-3 weeks too ) so I'm keeping an eye out on that. according to rumors, ' sacrifice ' and the gregg araki film might premiere there.

also another film festival i forgot to mention: locarno film festival. that one starts on august 6th, but lineup announcement is 10 am CET ( 4 am est, 1 am pst, etc ) in the next few hours. idk if any of her films will be there, but again, I'll keep an eye out.

The dread outro is literally leading right into it. I dont understand how thats not so obvious to most angels… But I think a general release has to happen this year. Next year would be too late imo.

the charli and jack thing is fake (idk if that was mentioned lol) but people are crazy to think her working with him wouldn’t go crazy

he’s helped pop girls create some of their career defining best albums? he’s an incredible produce, i don’t get the hate!

if she worked with him for the lou reed album i would be sat!

also off topic: i thought her glastonbury performance was sloppy. i put it down to nerves at first but after a while she just looked like she couldn’t be bothered to be there. she was just doing the same ass shake and stomp - yeah i know that’s her thing - and it is choreographed - but she didn’t even seem to be hitting a beat. she killed it at coachella but she hates the uk i guess haha. she needs time off or something

a few speculative thoughts/theories on the moment:

i just saw that on the moment's wikipedia page, it mentions it being released in september. idk how accurate this is, because i know that info came from the co-writers' substack, but when i looked for it myself, the information about the release date isn't there. ( maybe it wasn't meant to be revealed so early idk but it's interesting tbh )

BUT, if the moment is actually releasing to wide theaters in september, that means a trailer is coming either sometime in july, or at the latest in august when it could see a small festival run in late august/september when TIFF/venice starts.

imo don't think it'll come so soon, especially when the moment was just announced and filmed this year and that seems too quick for a movie to release. a lot of films take 1-2 years ( or even more ) to release, especially when you consider post production, reshoots, edits, etc.

also with a24, they tend to make social media accounts to help promo a movie, like their latest film eddington has it's on twitter and ig accs for promo right now. i haven't seen that so far with the moment *just* yet but it should happen soon depending on when it gets announced officially.

i said it before but i still think the potential september release date is referring to the film festivals in the next few months, and will release next year for the general public, but i could be VERY wrong lol

so…. what do we think, whats the brat era gonna look like for the remainder of the year? shes obviously teasing something…

most obviously, the moment. seeing how its supposed to come out in september, we should get a teaser soon? its been in post production for a second and according to her letterboxd there are now two cuts of it. it could be premiering at a festival first tho and maybe come out later? who knows.

then…. the genre shift. im convinced her recent surprise performances w clairo and air are some kind of teaser for whats next to come. we know the drill, we wont get another brat. i think its unlikely but she might follow up the brat era maybe relatively soon w a completely different new project.

then…. shes mentioned the thing about her wanting brat to last forever…. the cover changes definitely mean *something*. it could just all lead up to the moment or…. another brat version? i think this is the least unlikely thing to happen. but i wouldn’t completely count it out.

some actual good news regarding the film era + some extra info:

without saying tooooooo much, i screened some of her films around mid-late last year and early this year. i said the acting wasn't good nor was the films. turns out i saw VERY different cuts of these films, and i guess some people did too.

i asked other people irl who screened her movies, and it turns out there were other versions of these films that saw average to positive comments, some even praising charli's acting.

what I've seen must've been very early cuts, but that's typical with test screening movies. a movie will be screened multiple times with different cuts to see how the general public will react.
