I’m sorry but I don’t think Lana Del Rey fans can be worrying about this (honestly pretty tame for being such a scandal) album cover being “misogynistic” when the first thing I thought about when I saw this cover was Lana’s GQ photoshoot 😭😭😭

The sad truth is no matter what type of statement she made about this, most people who are giving her backlash have already made up their minds and care more about taking her down for funsies instead of holding someone accountable for their actions. Which is usually the case in these types of situations where someone’s past is brought up against them. And a lot of those people worship celebrities that have done far far worse and have not shown any type of growth.

A lot of the critique (besides the racist stuff) was people misunderstanding her art. Yes the shirt was stupid and edgy but ive never seen her music as fetishization of the things she sings about.

I tried not to speak about something so fresh, there's been many situations like this in the past proven to be a complete BS. But..
 
Regarding her boyfriend - if i had a nickel for everytime my fav was in a relationship with a walking red flag.. If the allegations are true, perhaps she will open her eyes. I mean - its a 6month relationship, i ve had pimples lasting longer than that.
 
When it comes to the tweets/tumblr posts - they are like 7 years old. I know that i wasn't 100% politically appropriate back then, i was a bratty teenager from a slavic country. We have always had different norms regarding the boundary between dark/edgy humor and hatecrime. I would assume the same goes for some different States. The world evolves, people evolve, and if the stuff is real - i try to focus on the good that Hayden currently stands for. Let's not forget she is an autistic person who (i would assume) had a lot going on being trans in the State that she was raised in.
 
People love a good character development arc in movies/series/games, but when it comes to real life - they always doubt the progress of a public person. I ve seen it multiple times with influencers for example. Look at what Trisha Paytas was doing back in a day, and now she is a lovely human being, a mother of (soon) 3 children with a healthy impact on society. 
 
I am not trying to explain her behavior or minimalize it, but i just wanted to share my POV on that situation, as I personally know a lot of folks who didnt grew up in open-minded and progressive areas acting in similar way in their teenage years who turned out to be lovely people after their frontal lobe developed.
