forgive me if this was already mentioned, but as she has grown as an artist its clear she only has good intentions in using her platform and her reach. in these past few years she has been very vocal on real world issues and I think a lot of people are excusing that as well. No im not saying her actions in the past were justified or okay but there is a clear linear development in what she discusses online/promotes. I hope people can factor that in too before making their final judgements about her - it's definitely a disheartening situation and the nuance of it definitely adds to the difficulty of how it is being managed. i hope everyone can make their peace with it eventually bc I dont think its necessarily beneficial to direct their pitchforks/energies to her when there are ultimately much bigger issues in the world - spreading hate and discourse like this is ultimately not going to change the past and I think we can all agree that If she had the chance she would undo all this as it definitely not how she feels nowadays . that's just my opinion though and im defo gonna keep reading and see what people have to say who were hurt from this.

whether or not lana is "problematic" is at this point in my life somewhat inconsequential to me. it's evident that as someone who clearly has had no issue cultivating a lgbtq fanbase, and as someone who has been the outcast for a lot of her life, that she is not ideologically conservative. as a trans person, i became attached to lana when i was 14 because she helped me see that qualities i have that i was made to feel invisible and unlovable and wrong for, are actually deep wells of authentic beauty and intuition. the way the person at the core of our being is presented to the world can change over time in a lot of ways for a lot of reasons. there are different layers of perceptions, emotions, memories, and shame that the core self is filtered and adapted through before it gets shown to the world, and before our intentions and values become actions. who knows what is going on with her or why she married jeremy. or where that is coming from, or what belief(s) about herself, her family, her identity, etc. it confirms back to her to be with him. we don't even really know who he is. or who she is. it's a small percentage of the people on this forum who have even spoken a word to her. nonetheless we all care. clearly i do! and as someone who cares, i have seen it as a more worthwhile investment of my time and energy to consider intentionally what exactly it is i enjoy about lana and her music, and whether or not i need to feel aligned with her politically and ideologically to continue enjoying lana that way. 
 
i would also implore everyone to please please please become educated on the difference between liberalism/neoliberalism and real leftism.

The thing is this all started a long time ago, this boyfriend development just gave the people who were hoarding all these screenshots the perfect moment to load their guns. Like this literally has already been discussed this thread months maybe even a year ago 
 
in any case I don’t think this will end her career, as has been stated there are far worse people out there with flourishing art careers
