Her mistake was not releasing new music soon enough after Pure Heroine and then again after Melodrama. The 4 year formula doesn’t really work well anymore, people have shorter attention spans, and other girlies come along to take the spotlight. If she released every 1.5 -2 years and had about 7 albums by now I’m certain she would have done better. Personality wise, she isn’t well adapted to the spotlight it’s all in her music about wanting to shut herself away. She wanted both years away to herself with minimal public interaction, and then to come back and have huge albums and singles, unfortunately you can’t always have both.
