I really wonder what happened in the last 8 months that made Lana change/rework the entire album, excluding some songs and including new ones not a clue....

This is what I've been thinking, too. Something must have changed dramatically last fall. She was very uncertain about the album last year, and now she seems genuinely excited and proud of it. And her Stagecoach performance pretty much confirmed this. I haven't seen her so relaxed and confident in years. She was so joyous when talking about the new singles in her IG reels, as well (she hasn't done that since NFR).
It's not a coincidence that insiders told us that the (original) album was supposedly finished last September - which means that the album could have easily been released in January/February. But all these postponements, the singles having been produced by Laird and Erickson, the change of the album title, the fact that Stars Fell on Alabama, based on its lyrical content, was obviously written very recently - indicating additions to the original tracklist... I don't know. Something must have happened in the creative process. Pantene told us back in November/December that he hadn't listened to some songs - and I think that she must have continued working on the album in 2025 due to the album getting postponed -, because there had been several last-minute changes. And the Dan Euerbach sessions for Ultraviolence immediately come to mind.

there are certain songs that i even sing with a little country twang when i’m in the car and always have done, btd being one, as is NLMG. as lana said herself, alot of her music really is country-esque if you strip away the facade

This is gonna sound incredibly elitist but I kinda feel like she’s always had that in her music
I find it to be prominent in BTD title track, keep makin me laugh, let’s go get high, the road is long we carry on …. Etc. - it doesn’t necessarily feel like a country song because it’s drowned in strings and beats, but if you strip that down and give it a guitar, it could be a country song. Same with video games and ride, as she said herself!
edit: in her pre-BTD stuff she has a twang, too. I’d have to go back and find a specific lyric but it’s definitely in Sirens and Fordham Road

This album really has the potential to be one of lana’s best albums, I really hope the other songs will have the same atmosphere as the songs we heard so far, I’m so scared how will Jack’s tracks fit in this CRYSTAL CLEAR, UNMUFFLED, ORCHESTRAL, CLASSIC album. Unless she called drew again to save the day. Then yes

I'm still floored on how amazing Henry Come On is. Everything about this song is so perfect. Amazing lyrics and production. It's so new and fresh. It's like a warm hug. It's like a mountain travel. It's like a bonfire with smores. It's like a sunset. It's like the most stunning handmade white dress you've ever seen. It's like holding hands. It's like driving while standing out of a sunroof. It's like a freshly baked cinnamon apple pie in your grandma's house. It's just so beautiful.

I need to share my thoughts on her stagecoach performance and yes maybe it should be in that thread but it’s not a very active thread anymore and also it ties into my thoughts on the album soooo
I finally was able to watch the entire set in full last night and honestly I am floored. This is the best performance I’ve ever seen of hers, it felt like a start of a new era of Lana and at the same time a deep love letter to her entire career. I have never seen her so confident and actually SINGING since 2012-2013. She sang the new songs as if she has sang them a million times and it made me feel like they had always been around. The stage design is fucking gorgeous, I felt like I was watching Princess in the Frog, it was seriously so beautiful and romantic and looked like a Disney movie. The mixes for this concert were also just beautiful. I mean I can’t believe I’m saying this but this rendition of Arcadia genuinely made me love the song and when I finished the set, I rewinded right back to it because it moved me so much, and I have always hated that song. I think we could’ve done without that George Birge guy and his song, but otherwise the setlist was honestly perfect, and I do appreciate that Lana is trying to uplift smaller artists. Basically this performance reignited my LOVE for Lana, I haven’t seen this much passion from her in forever and I am truly in awe.
Stars Fell Over Alabama, Quiet in the South, and 57.5 are all amazing songs and I love them and these along with the already released singles are showing that this album is shaping up to be one of my favorites. The production is so rich and lush and we have not heard strings this gorgeous since Honeymoon. I was already really excited for this record but after watching this performance I literally cannot wait and can already tell it’s going to change my life.

I have to vent, I’m so excited for this album because for the first time since 2019 it feels so old Lana coded. I’m tired of pretending that jack single-handedly didn’t ruin Lana’s music it was dry, muffled, crispy, boring, washed out with somebody banging pots and pans in the next room. and now that we got Henry, bluebird and the 3 songs you can’t deny there’s a quality and atmosphere difference. It’s giving vintage, cinema, like what we fell in love with in the first place. I feel it’s gonna be top 3 Lana albums
