OBI Strips Thread

This is a thread to discuss OBI strips which are the strips of paper on most (if not all) Asian music releases, as well as assorted video, game & Western music releases.

 

To start, here's the OBI strip of all of Lana's Japanese albums (pics politely stolen from Discogs):

 

plus the Taiwanese Violet OBI (cause it hasn't been released on CD in Japan)

I always wanted to get the japanese BB cd but the shipping from there's always a bit more expensive, they look so good

i don't own any lana cds so i can't show pictures of them

my lana collection is actually quite lacking

 

i do have a good amount of japanese cds though i need to post them here sometime

i absolutely LOVE obi strips, they're such a cute packaging thing, especially when done by asian artists, they get really creative with it! when it comes to western artists i sometimes find it funny bc they be having random ass phrases and that makes me laugh lmao i once saw one for gaga's joanne and it was something like "gaga: human return" out of nowhere, never a dull moment with asian music industry

western artists are lazy with their packaging

ive always wanted to design some too but i’m worried the japanese translation will come out wrong, and i’m not really sure what information to include

tbh you could just find an already existing one for the artist youre making a design of and just copy + paste the text
