honey dew Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 "At least 146 people have been killed and more than 150 injured after being crushed by a large crowd pushing forward on a narrow street during Halloween festivities in the capital Seoul, South Korean officials say." https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-10-30/halloween-crowd-surge-in-seoul-kills-dozens/101594394 Well there's nothing really to say other than I'm praying and wondering how this can even happen 8 Quote
Dark Angel Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 large crowds can actually be very dangerous, i'm pretty sure there's a name for what happens when people are stuck in large crowds, there can be a lot of weight from all of the bodies surrounding you, it can completely crush you and suffocate you, it's a very horrifying way to die, it's exactly what happened at that travis scott concert incident 15 Quote

I also read that the streets/that area aren’t/isn’t very large and it can easily get crowded, like what happened last night. I don’t think the government can tell where people will go, but maybe someone like a town mayor could’ve anticipated how large the crowd would become. Hopefully something will be done to avoid something similar to happen again. Awful pictures and videos, it looked like a real nightmare. I hope survivors are okay. 5 Quote ♥ Please spell out acronyms, I can’t figure them out anymore. :’ )
Gravitate Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 Crowd asphyxiation is so fucking terrifying. When you realize it's happening you're already stuck between hundreds of people and can't get out. I can't imagine the panic those people must have been in, rest in peace 6 Quote
