Biden vs. Trump, First Debate of Election 2024 - June 27, 2024

Tonight, Biden and Trump will go head to head in the first debate of the election season.

 

It's being hosted by CNN, moderated by Jake Tapper. Below are the rules.

 

Debate rules: Microphones will be muted except for the candidate who is speaking. Each candidate will have 2 minutes to respond. No props or pre-written notes will be allowed. Candidates will be given a pen, a pad of paper and a bottle of water. Trump will have the final word.

I definitely don’t know enough of American politics because I’m not American or that interested but from what I know it’s either trump with his 2025 act taking away the majority of human rights or Biden who doesn’t help people in I think Gaza (I also don’t know alot about the Palestine Israel stuff except that one side is really bad and the other needs everyone’s help). If it were up to me as an American Biden seems to be the better choice when it comes down to personal life, you can always protest against Biden to do one thing and help those in need there but it’ll take a lot more protesting against trump, gay rights, trans rights, women’s rights etc have been protested for decades and is only reaching now and trump would just ruin that. Again this is my very uneducated opinion but like americas gross and we need to get these old ass nursing home patients out of these presidential positions. LAUFEY FOR PRESIDENT

Trump is a bottomless pit of fuckups. On his site and through his rallies and interviews he has been clear about what fucked up shit is coming our way. It should be sooooo easy to embarrass him tonight, but that won't happen, Biden is going to stumble through it, maybe lazily blurt out that he slept with a porn star (his people don't care), but there's a lot that could be said to clearly demonstrate how he hasn't been good -not even for his followers- and the damage he would cause if he wins again.

Agreed. The Democrats should have primaried him and replaced him with someone with a) more charisma, b) less baggage, and c) more ability to hop on Trump and pin down his fuck shit. Biden might have been able to do c, but that was yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaars ago. I don't want our President to be either one of those old men. Or Kamala Harris (I can't stand her), if Biden were to die in office or something.

I’ll never understand American politics being so bi-sided, like there are so many politicians and parties to choose from, why are you putting a bad old man vs. another bad, but worse old man. BOTH ARE OVER 70 wtf. Usually I am super invested in (American) elections, but this time I try to blend it out tbh. It feels like a whole South Park movie with too many sequels.

at least kamala harris isn't very old

 

i honestly can't comprehend the fact that you're still allowed to run the country when you're EIGHTY (trump is 78 and biden is 81), obviously nothing against old people at all of course but at that point it will likely be too stressful and difficult to take on the task to be president, it's way too high-demanding, stressful and there's a lot at stake, somebody at that age is not going to be well-equipped to effectively handle that
