ah yes classic Southern Gothic content like *checks notes* a love letter to the West Coast

Listen to any of those “American Recordings” albums that Johnny Cash did with Rick Rubin in his final years but here’s a couple of my favorite songs:

-Redemption

-Rusty Cage

-Hurt

-God’s Gonna Cut You Down

If I had to predict the sound of the album I think it would land somewhere close to this tbh

Does South Alabama by Ethel Cain count bc that's what I've been thinking is southern gothic

[An Ocean of Time]

east virginia by joan baez seems to really be southern gothic at it's core

[Candy Necklace]

[Let the Light In]

[Blackcloud]

I think Ultraviolence fits my perception of a Southern Gothic aesthetic also. Videos like ‘Ultraviolence’, tracks like ‘Old Money’

I loved this song when I was a kid. I did not understand English then but I loved the mysterious vibe of it. I had always wanted her to cover it. Candy Necklace lowkey has the same vibe. I need Lana to do more murder ballads to be honest, imagine Zodiac in an Southern Gothic sound.
