Lesley Gore

Lesley Sue Goldstein (May 2, 1946 – February 16, 2015), was an American singer and songwriter. At the age of 16, she recorded her first hit song "It's My Party", a US number one in 1963. She followed it up with ten further US Billboardtop 40 hits including "Judy's Turn to Cry" and "You Don't Own Me".

 

Her music has been sampled time and time again, notably by artists like Melanie Martinez.

 

 

 

truly one of my favourite artists of all time and one of the only artists i truly miss (along with amy winehouse)

she was soooo adamant she was cryin over boys only to come out as a lesbian she was sooooo real for that

 

took ages a few years ago sourcing the rest of her albums on vinyl they smelt OLD and like a basement
