This reminds me of Wild Horses by The Rolling Stones. Mick Jagger has said otherwise, but the general consensus is that the song was about him watching then girlfriend Marianne Faithfull’s struggle with drug addiction. Keith Richards portion of the song was about difficulty leaving his son to go on tour.

Lana’s obviously referencing the song on watercolor eyes, but she kind of flipped the meaning there by saying “wild horses can’t keep us together” instead of “wild horses couldn’t drag me away,”.

just got emotional to this song once again, hearing it through the lens of growing up with a physically abusive father it resonates so hard & i will always defend it against the flop allegations

Lord... The fact that this song has been out for nearly 2 months and hasn't out-streamed a single LDR album track so far.

I meant cumulatively, overall - it's barely out-sreamed some D list remixes and Hollywood Bowl so far, which is tragic.

 

Daily wise, Bluebird is only the 54th most streamed LDR song on Spotify, which is really poor. Tough is 32nd it dropped a year ago...  Even Living Legend is getting more. What I'm saying is: at 76,000 streams daily globally, Bluebird flopped really, really bad.

 

In a month or two, it'll drop to Arcadia poor daily stream numbers (19,000 streams daily), and she's just released Bluebird. And 57.5 was right there!
