Beautiful Loser Posted May 10 Posted May 10 I know we’re (Sweden) favorites again but I hope we won’t win because we don’t have any jokes left to deliver, last time was just sad. But I kinda do hope we’ll win because the Finn in me would be happy! Our song about enjoying a sauna, haha. And I worry my Finnish grandma will have a heart attack when she sees Finland’s submission lol! But I’m very impressed by Austria’s vocal performance! I hope he’ll deliver live as well. The song felt similar to Nemo’s in a way, but I hope I’ll go far! Also ESPRESSO MACCHIATO!! 1 Quote ♥ Please spell out acronyms, I can’t figure them out anymore. :’ )

Embach Posted May 13 Author Posted May 13 Here's are my thoughts of the entries so far I've seen and listened I removed the links from the OP because it was laggy and I couldn't write a comment here. Iceland - Okay, A Minecraft Movie spinoff! Those pixely graphics hahah. The song is kind of a bit too energetic for my liking. Poland - Really dramatic performance and overwhelming effects, good vocals though. Slovenia - I know that the song has a good meaning and such but I don't know if ballads like this work at Eurovision, this is giving an Ed Sheeran song outtake. Estonia - Really goofy and silly but I don't understand the Italianisms there, like what's the parody concept of that about. Spain - I know she has good vocals but it's like a parody of a winner-bait Eurovision song which electropop tune, vocals, choreo and flash effects, I would say the same about Poland as well. Ukraine - Really nice! Kind of perfect for Eurovision! But the song is not something I would listen to. Sweden - Another silly and goofy one, I love how it sounds like an ethnic folk song what people would sing together in sauna and I think this was their aim. Portugal - Really nice song, not really Eurovision material but the melody was really pretty! Norway - It's not a bad song but I'm tired of these hyper-energetic songs with flashy effects. Belgium - Really cool and very clubby but I'm surprised that the bookies are predicting top 10 for this song. All of those entries so far are giving me what would be SNL skits of Eurovision, sorry! 1 Quote
laurita Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Waiting for Czechia (Slovak guy, because having our own Eurovision entry is just too luxurious for a country like ours ) 2 Quote please stop with the song acronyms they're hard to read. thank you <3
Embach Posted May 13 Author Posted May 13 Not fan of the hosts to be honest. Like they're not bad but it's really difficult to beat Petra Mede and Graham Norton. Italy - I unironically liked this. I love how it was natural and not try-hard, baity. Not a winner material but I loved the 1960s/1970s alternative rock vibes. Azerbaijan - The guitar-y looking thing was good. San Marino - Felt like a parody somehow, I don't know. Albania - Not bad, but I wouldn't listen to it regularly. I loved the man's voice to be honest, hooked my attention. Also: Netherlands - I unironically liked this, not a winner-material but it's like a World Cup football song or like a song for a Coca-Cola commercial, something of a feel-good radio song. 4 Quote
Embach Posted May 13 Author Posted May 13 Croatia - I get that they're trying and are passionate about it because I can see how much effort there was to the staging but it's a no from me, the song and the staging, it was overdone. I remember nothing from this song. Switzerland - A GOOD SONG. I can't say no to a good ballad sang in French. The staging was modest but beautiful, like the song. I mean, there have been songs like this before, but it's beautiful. It sounds like a song from Olivia Rodrigo's Sour, like Traitor, I think. Cyprus - Sassy but too fucking flashy. I wonder how epileptic people can watch this? And there have been 100 acts like this before, nothing new. :/ 0 Quote
Beautiful Loser Posted May 13 Posted May 13 I liked Italy’s song, and I appreciate the subtitles - made it easier to catch the few Italian words I recognized. :3 I’m rooting for goofy so Espresso macchiato! Albania sounded very unique, I think I’d listen to it again. Maybe it’s just be being tired (and I gotta be up early tomorrow again) but the flashing lights for so many performances almost made me dizzy. 1 Quote ♥ Please spell out acronyms, I can’t figure them out anymore. :’ )

Embach Posted May 13 Author Posted May 13 This first-semi kind of sucked in my opinion not gonna lie I don't know if I'll bother tuning in for the second-semi, since I don't like most of the songs there as well, I'll probably watch the future winner, oh I mean, Austria 1 Quote
vrtvie Posted May 14 Posted May 14 I love Austria this year, the Polish performance also gave me chills, it was great really. Luxembourg is cute, Norway and Czechia are OK I guess. From 'funny songs' I like Finland the most, Estonia and Australia are alright, Sweden I can't stand sorry not sorry. France or Spain sound good but somewhat conventional. The UK is like the safest spice girl reincarnation ever ZZzzzzz 2 Quote
