Spotify CEO Daniel Ek has invested €600 million (approximately $700 million) in Helsing, a Munich-based European defense technology company specializing in AI military software, drones, aircraft, and submarines.

Some good reason to finally leave Spotify. The payment model has always been unfair. I'll probably switch to Tidal now. It's just unfortunate that Lana probably wants to release a song about the platform right now.

not a pmc, its a defense tech company

 

pmcs are simply mercenaries (think of Wagner, G4S, Aegis), Helsing provides technological upgrades to existing contractors in europe, or creates new systems (think of Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, RTX or Rheinmetall in the european sector).

 

what i dont understand is why people are up in arms given Helsing is the most unproblematic company in the field. their only notable contributions so far remain with radar upgrades for Swedish Gripens and autonomous vehicle control systems for Rheinmetall.

RIP Xiu Xiu fans of Lanaboards who use spotify. I really like their first three albums (which are still on spotify as of now, but most of their discography was taken down). 
 

Also according to some extensive research (google search) spotify is 11.99 a month and apple music is 10.99, so i think i’ll switch and save a dollar, and then i can buy a big mac after 6 months. And apparently it’s for a good social cause!

ive been meaning to switch to apple music for a while because spotify has been really declining feature wise but i have been on my familys family plan since 2015 and don’t pay it so i don’t wanna lose that

I’m so glad I’m already planning on moving to Apple. The mixing feature really gagged it for me but I’m gonna have to wait till November I cannot be jeopardising my Spotify wrapped
