takemybreath Posted May 21 Posted May 21 - Spotify announces new "Reserved" feature, which will allow artists to set aside concert tickets for fans on the platform. It will use streams, shares and other forms of activity to identify an artist's most dedicated fans and hold two tour tickets for them. The fans will then have a day-long window to purchase the tickets. Limited to Spotify Premium users in the U.S. 8 Quote

annedauphine Posted May 21 Posted May 21 I don't like this it promotes unhealthy competition and it's just a way for their greedy asses to make more money by increasing streams, pay artists more I dare yall urgh I'm not usually that bitter but this doesn't sit right with me at all 13 Quote
Tallulah Posted May 21 Posted May 21 the way I'd be eligible for Henry Mancini tickets if only I were from the US and he hadn't died before I was even born 4 Quote .

MelancholicAsh Posted May 21 Posted May 21 What a great day to be homeschooled! Looks like I get to finally see Lana afterall! But I agree with everyone that’s above me cause it’s not at all a good idea. Instead of most streamed fans it should be more like they give you a test about lyrics etc. and there’s a Timeframe for this test. 5 Quote
jaesana Posted May 21 Posted May 21 This is a way to get people back into using Premium. I abandoned Spotify around 3 years ago when I realized Youtube Premium (which I was already paying for) had its own music streaming service. Technically, I would be in the top .5% of Lana listeners on Spotify Premium if I re-activate my old account, but with the chances of this feature malfunctioning + Lana deciding to even use this feature for concerts, I don't really see a point in going back to Spotify. I dislike them as a company and have no desire to give them my money. I'll take my chances with a Stubhub ticket resale. 6 Quote

SweetCherryCola Posted May 21 Posted May 21 This sounds like a great idea on paper but it doesn't take long before you see downsides. It obviously doesn't mean literally every stan will get this opportunity. Some countries are bigger than others and have more fans than others, so very few fans in a large population like the US for example, will get this chance. Because there's 2 tickets allocated per person also means that if the artist has booked small venues, a lot of fans would sell it out immediately before the wider public have a chance, so the amount of fans that are approved will probably be tiny. And what if stats can be faked? And what if the rich 1% can pay for the opportunity? Above all else, it's not fair on fans who work and have limited time to stream. It's a system that will definitely favour the rich (who can get anything they want by throwing money at something) and the young (who have the free time and the blind devotion to spend every day streaming). And yeah, you have to pay for Spotify premium. Most people want it for free. 4 Quote
Honeymoon CD Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Strange that it’s a premium only feature, kind of defeats the whole purpose doesn’t it? 3 Quote ꧁I've got a bad disease꧂ last fm ꪆৎ
