Divineness Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Based on @Crazy Husband Thief "Fix Lust For Life" thread. A lot of people hate Blue Banisters, so let's see everyone's thoughts on how this album could have turned out I would already retitle it to Rock Candy Sweet. Blue Banisters never warmed up for me as an album title even though i enjoy the song itself. I scrapped the most filler-esque tracks (Beautiful, Violets for Roses), and another thing i would do is separate the UV outtakes into a second project because they feel kind of different Also, the mixing on this album is absolutely terrifying. Arcadia & Sweet Carolina sounds distorted asf even when it's not on high volume fuck whoever did this mess ROCK CANDY SWEET 1. Text Book 2. Rock Candy Sweet 3. Arcadia 4. Black Bathing Suit 5. Dealer (feat. Miles Kane) 6. Thunder 7. Valley Of The Dolls 8. Wildflower Wildfire 9. Watercolor Eyes 10. Blue Banisters 11. Sweet Carolina 12. All Hollywood Now Singles Lead single - Rock Candy Sweet Promo - Arcadia 2nd single - Dealer 3rd single - Thunder 4th single - Valley Of The Dolls Music videos for RCS, Arcadia and double video for Dealer & Thunder NECTAR OF THE GODS (EP) 1. Yes To Heaven 2. Nectar Of The Gods 3. Fine China 4. If You Lie Down With Me 5. Wild One 6. Unidentified Flying Bill (feat. Barrie-James) 7. Cherry Blossom 8. Living Legend Singles Lead single - Yes To Heaven Promo - If You Lie Down With Me 2nd single - Nectar Of The Gods 3rd single - Fine China 4th single - Unidentified Flying Bill (feat. Barrie-James) Music videos for SYTH, UFB, NOTG 25 Quote - I never felt unhappy - - Because I have been unhappy all the time -
angelsinthesky Posted June 23 Posted June 23 I really like the seperate EP concept, great tracklist! 15 Quote
Waimea Bay Posted June 23 Posted June 23 I think she is perfect as is She is trying her best 22 Quote
Veinsineon Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Would axe all the previous album outtakes and let the grandma ballads like Grandfather and Fingertips all exist on one family oriented- sleepy project. Allowing Tunnel to be the actual HEAT it was meant to be, more in the vein of Peppers/A&W. 6 Quote
TrashMagiq Posted June 24 Posted June 24 Flipping the tracklist around isn't gonna fix it I fear... I'd fix it by unreleasing it! 18 Quote

sjatib Posted June 24 Posted June 24 I could absolutely do without Beautiful and maybe Arcadia, but love this record so much I can forgive those songs. 4 Quote
Niko come on Posted June 24 Posted June 24 I’d fix it by deleting it and having her release if you lie down with me on Chemtrails 9 Quote "Don’t forget me"
Jojo Posted June 24 Posted June 24 I fear BB it's unfixable.mp3 but that's why I love her, deep down I know I can fix her!!! 7 Quote
YourGirl666 Posted June 24 Posted June 24 Arcadia EP 1. Text Book 2. Wildflower Wildfire 3. Arcadia 4. Black Bathing Suit 5. Beautiful (Alternative Mix) 6. Blue Banisters 7. Violets For Roses 8. Sweet Carolina Thunder should've been on NFR replacing TNBAR and the UV outtakes deserved a different release (maybe Tropico b-side album for the 10th anniversary) 7 Quote
Lindsay Lohan Posted June 24 Posted June 24 I'd fix it by entering a universe where it does not exist. I've said it so many times on here but ignoring the fact this album is weak lyrically, vocally, sonically, and technically, there is truly no purpose for it to have been released. It was a reactionary album to her own cancellation in which she clarifies in the 4 single tracks. The rest of the album doesn't hold specific purpose or relevance to the album's concept. Back to the lyrics, everything is extremely simplified to the point I would believe it if Lana came out and said her secret 12 year old niece wrote some songs ( ex. Violets For Roses, Beautiful, Sweet Carolina) and the ones that feel more Lana feel like they were dumbed down to be understood. Ultraviolence was also a reactionary album to hate she was receiving, but the difference between UV and Blue Banisters (other than the obvious surface flaws) is that on UV, Lana doubled down on everything she was accused of and made it interesting and memorable. She wasn't afraid of mess and leaned into the character she'd established on Born to Die, evolving it by making it darker, angrier, and more self-assured. BB on the other hand, she deflects everything and blames her problems on everyone else, and in the most boring way possible. Not even in an ironic way, like she deadass believes everyone around her is an opp that lead to her downfall in this album. Then we come to the unreleased tracks that people love to pretend are her all time favorite tracks, meanwhile they were literally just the most recently leaked tracks of 2020 ... I'm just happy UFB was spared from being on this compilation album and leaked after the tracklist finalized. To fix this album, you can't. She should have released her 4 little singles in an EP moved on. 14 Quote

Anita Malfatti Posted June 24 Posted June 24 Make her sing on tune (it does have some good moments tho, I enjoy the first half especially black bathing suit) 2 Quote
vale acrylics Posted June 24 Posted June 24 by releasing it as an ep with the barrie cowritten songs + dealer 2 Quote Hope is very far.
SweetCherryCola Posted June 24 Posted June 24 Considering that CoCC was released only a few months prior, I've always seen BB as a companion album of sorts and they could easily have been fused together. I partly think BB suffered as it was rushed out a bit because Lana was on a music production kick due to the pandemic and it maybe would've benefited from cooking a bit longer. As CoCC was 11 tracks, I would've liked if BB had matched that, meaning that 4 songs could be cut and I'd personally want them to be Dealer, Thunder, Cherry Blossom and Sweet Carolina. Sorry to those who like those ones but they just don't do it for me and it would've given the album a better good track ratio if they weren't there. 5 Quote
