YourGirl666 Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Well, inspired by the Fix LFL and Fix BB threads, COCC (2021) is one of the most underrated Lana Del Rey albums, but also one of her most interesting conceptually. Some say it's bland but it gave us many iconic songs like White Dress, title track and the long awaited Yosemite. It's a slow burner and far from a wild ride. It has way more in common with a chill summer afternoon at the countryside than a Bond film. Short but sweet, it does its job. However, nothing's so good that it can't be improved. This is your chance to show us your own personal COCC. If u could chance the tracklist, singles, rollout and artwork to make COCC one of Lana's biggest and better executed eras, what would u do? Here goes YourGirl666's COCC 1. White Dress 2. I Talk To Jesus 3. Chemtrails Over The Country Club* 4. Tulsa Jesus Freak 5. Mike** 6. Dark But Just a Game 7. If You Lie Down With Me 8. Look On Down From a Bridge*** 9. Not All Who Wander Are Lost 10. Wild at Heart 11. Yosemite 12. Say Yes To Heaven 13. Dance Till We Die 14. Suzanne**** Deluxe 15. Pink Champaigne (softer version) 16. Embach Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Like I also said in the Blue Banisters thread, I wouldn't fix it at all. I'd leave it as it is, because it was probably meant to be that way, like all of her albums were. And I love COTCC. The album being as it is is reflective of Lana and the world at the time of its release. 7 Quote
SEROTONIN Posted July 6 Posted July 6 honestly i always have a hard time perfecting lana albums with different songs because im used to the original tracklist & im used to seeing it how lana gave it to us so instead of me 'fixing' it this will be my personal alternate universe preference Singles: - White Dress - Chemtrails Over The Country Club - Tulsa Jesus Freak - Diamonds And Rust 1. White Dress 2. Chemtrails Over The Country Club 3. Tulsa Jesus Freak 4. Hey Blue Baby (Final) 5. Wild At Heart 6. Dark But Just A Game 7. Yosemite 8. Watercolor Eyes (this song just deserves to be on any album. sorry.) 9. Breaking Up Slowly 10. An ACTUAL song (that isn't a cover) with Weyes Blood, thanks. 11. Dance Till We Die 12. Thunder (Demo) 13. Diamonds And Rust (since she loves her covers) - breaking up slowly fits with the breaking up theme of watercolor eyes so i let it stay... fine.... Standalone Singles to close out the era - Eat For Free (Final) (feat. Haley Bonar) - Wicked Game (Final) (feat. Chris Isaak) i just love the covers she did during the nfr tour, and i wish there were studio versions of them, with lana actually singing! during the actual performance, she mostly made her mic quieter and went on backing vocals so you can barely hear her (especially since the recordings are pretty low quality) i wish she covered the entire song with the cover artist on backing vocals, or at least sang a full verse.... diamonds and rust is the only one where you can actually hear her since she does some harmonizing 4 Quote SPHERICAL SCREEN, OUR COUPLE INITIAL LETTERING / FILL THE HALLS AT SCHOOL WITH IT AS A HEADLINE
softmelancholy Posted July 6 Posted July 6 I would only add fine china and pink Champagne. The rest works well 2 Quote
Divineness Posted July 6 Posted July 6 I have a love/hate relationship with Chemtrails, I believe it's one of her best and most cohesive work, but at the same time it might be my least favorite Lana album.. I'd scrap For Free and delete the Nikki's feature on Breaking Up Slowy (no shade but I'm just not a fan of her voice). Let Me Love You Like A Woman is a cute song but it did not deserve to be a chopped version of Pink Champagne, and both songs doesn't really fit this record so i'd scrap them all and replace it with IYLDWM instead. I also still hate the cover artwork and it's one of the reasons why the album is having a hard time growing on me they should've just picked that gorgeous alternative Neil Krug shoot. CHEMTRAILS OVER THE COUNTRY CLUB 1. White Dress 2. Chemtrails Over The Country Club 3. Tulsa Jesus Freak 4. If You Lie Down With Me 5. Loved You Then And Now 6. Wild At Heart 7. Dark But Just A Game 8. Hey Blue Baby 9. Yosemite 10. Not All Who Wander Are Lost - Reproduced 11. Dance Till We Die 12. Ex-Glory 13. Breaking Up Slowly - No collab 14.
