If You Had to Merge and/or Divide a Lana Album, Which One Would You Choose? (and Why?)

[Auburn Cuprum]

is an album too long? its concept or sound too in-cohesive? or are two albums so similar they practically blend together for you and merge into one?

if you were in control of Lana’s discography, would you merge two projects, or divide one project into two distinctive identities? if you would, why would you? and what would the tracklist(s), theme(s) and message(s) become?

[Kinda Outta Luck]

I was going to say born to die and paradise but we already have them conjoined so I'll say id combine chemtrails and blue banisters! some songs on blue banisters I think would fit really well with most of chemtrails especially the contrast between the happy songs on chemtrails and the more raw and vulnerable blue banisters tracks.

maybe a little something like this..

1. Chemtrails
2. Wild At Heart

3. Dark But Just a Game

4. Arcadia

5. Tusla Jesus Freak

6. Not All Who Wanders Are Lost

7. Wildflower Wildfire

11. Text Book

12. Breaking Up Slowly (solo)

13. Blue Banisters

14. Nectar Of The Gods

Paradise and Chemtrails Next 😊

I think Lana's discography is flawless but I wanted to get creative for a moment and merge two albums that I believe are connected thematically. I decided to merge NFR and Lust For Life. In a time of hopelessness and trepidation, two lovers are found to be soulmates. I wanted to bring this narrative of navigating an excruciating world while holding onto hope and optimism through your twin flame.

1. NFR
2. Tomorrow Never Came
3. Bartender

4. Hope Is A Dangerous Thing for a Woman Like Me to Have- but I Have it
5. How to Disappear
6. Coachella – Woodstock in My Mind
7. When the World Was at War We Kept Dancing
8. Get Free
9. Mariners Apartment Complex
10. In My Feelings
11. The Greatest
12. God Bless America- and All the Beautiful Women in It
13. Cinnamon Girl

14. California
15. Lust For Life
16. Change
17. Happiness Is a Butterfly
18. Love

Can't say I would completely merge NFR! with Chemtrails. But I can see WHF as a companion EP to NFR! coming out early 2020 - like BTD/Paradise.

If it were part of NFR as a deluxe (continues after Hope is a dangerous thing...):

Not All Who Wander Are Lost

Let Me Love You Like a Woman

Wild at Heart

White-hot Forever

Dark but Just a Game

White Dress

Chemtrails over the Country Club

[Disco Ball Mind]

i was thinking of merging NFR and OB  i mean NFR is like a precursor to OB with VB and Taco Truck x VB, so i thought i’d try

7. Cinnamon Girl

8. How To Dissapear

9. The Next Best American Record

10. Terrence Loves You

11. Love Song

[Auburn Cuprum]

i think i would divide AKA into two, one album that leans more alternative rock and grunge and the other that leans more alternative pop and surf noir. i just love so many of the songs from this era and wish they were all polished up! + jazzy and subtle Yayo is beautiful but the things I would do for a studio version of the rich whores rehearsal…

13. The End of the World
14. Coconut & Key-Lime Pie
15. Every Man Gets His Wish x 1949
16. Kill Kill

[Mississippi South]

LFL, I love it but it feels like a playlist, I'd probably just divide the 1st half from the 2nd so it's two cute separate EPs

[SEROTONIN]

i had an idea where lana would make a special album or something where she merges ultraviolence & honeymoon & lfl & leans more into the rock esque / psychedelic / slow songs

ULTRAMOONFORLIFE (idk lol)

1. Cruel World

2. Shades Of Cool

3. Honeymoon

4. 13 Beaches

5. Music To Watch Boys To

6. Pretty When You Cry

7. Serene Queen

8. Money Power Glory

9. Cry Kill Die

10. High By The Beach

11. Fucked My Way Up To The Top

12. Heroin

13. Guns And Roses

14. Swan Song

15. Get Free

this tracklist is lowkey a mess lol.

[SweetCherryCola]

I've always thought that COTCC and Blue Banisters would've been better together with the filler removed:

1. White Dress

2. Chemtrails Over The Country Club

3. Let Me Love You Like A Woman

4. Wild At Heart

5. Dark But Just A Game

6. Not All Who Wander Are Lost

7. Yosemite

8. Breaking Up Slowly

9. Blue Banisters

10. Text Book

11. Beautiful

12. Violets For Roses

13. Wildflower Wildfire

14. Living Legend

15. Dance Till We Die

16. Arcadia

This would actually have been one of her finest works. I think she just felt super creative when she was stuck inside during the pandemic and thought turning out two albums a few months apart was a great time killer.

[Topanga the Bengal]

I feel like blue banisters and ocean blvd are kinda redundant cause of the similar themes between them. Since I much prefer OB as a piece of work I’d just put wildflower wildfire in fingertip’s place and call it a day. The only song I’d be really missing from BB would be arcadia, so she could just release it as a stand alone single

[pinupgirl]

Born To Die + Lust For Life

1. Born To Die

2. Love

3. Cherry

4. Radio

5. Blue Jeans

6. Million Dollar Man

7. Summertime Sadness

8. Summer Bummer

9. Groupie Love

10. This Is What Makes Us Girls

11. Coachella..

12. God Bless America..

13. Lucky Ones

14. Diet Mountain Dew

15. Off To The Races

16. Without You

17. Videogames

18. Radio

19. Tomorrow Never Came

20. Heroin

21. Change

22. 13 Beaches

23. Carmen

24. Get Free

I'm not really happy w this tracklist tho

[Dark City]

I’ve always thought that Blue Banisters and Chemtrails were supposed to be one big project…which would also make a whole lotta sense. For instance - the two separate records - sound unfinished, as if there was something missing. This concept idea of a record would also address her concerns regarding the world’s  pandemic and the isolation that cancel culture led her to

Lana Del Rey - Grenadine…Quarantine:

1. Text Book

2. Blue Banisters

3. Grenadine Quarantine

4. If You Lie Down With Me

5. Chemtrails Over The Country Club

6. White Hot Forever

7. Dance ‘Till We Die

8. Dark But Just A Game

9. Wild At Heart

10. Wildflower Wildfire

11 Living Legend

12. Violets For Roses

this!!! ive had my time with lust for life, and i love her, but im not a huge fan of the album going from trip-hop rap to folky acoustic...

i can see how the sounds fit together, its almost like a color wheel / gradient where the sound (color) flows into the next, but if you choose songs further apart from each other they're very different

i prefer albums that stick with one main sound for the entirety of it, i think her best sonically cohesive album is probably btd

soo i would like lust for life to be split into 2 projects... something like this

1. Love

2. Swimming Pool (Lust For Life [Demo])

3. 13 Beaches

4. Architecture

5. Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind

6. God Bless America - And All The Beautiful Women In It

7. When The World Was At War We Kept Dancing

8. Beautiful People Beautiful Problems

9. Everything I Do

10. Tomorrow Never Came

11. Change

12. Poetry In Motion

13. Get Free

1. Lust For Life

2. Cherry

3. White Mustang

4. Summer Bummer

5. Groupie Love

6. In My Feelings

7. Serene Queen

8. Heroin

i also wanted to include the outtakes so imagine that they are more finalized and fit more

i split it up based on sound not by storytelling or lyrics so it might be a little wonky oop
