Divineness Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Tropico - Album based on religious psychosis, trauma and horror & Lana's early obsession with Marilyn, Jesus and Elvis. the album is separated into 3 sections: Prelapsarian Sinners 1. Body Electric 2. Cult Leader 3. Dragonslayer 4. I Don't Wanna Go 5. Ave Maria Interlude Horny For Life 6. Gods & Monsters 7. Pussy (Cola) 8. Money Power Glory 9. Driving In Cars With Boys 10. Psalms Interlude (Judah Smith Interlude - but with another pastor instead) Mournful Redemption 11. Elvis 12. Melancholia 13. Pink Champagne 14. I Talk To Jesus 15. Nectar Of The Gods Exclusive bonus track: 16. Bel Air The album's storyline pretty much follows the same structure as the film while adding new songs. It starts off with Lana on "Paradise" with her romantic partner, as her boyfriend starts to unveil the darker and gruesome themes underlying their relationship, which she ends up following. As they are purged, songs like Cola, MPG and DICWB showcase their lust and their commitment to the garden of evil. The last track of the section is Judah Smith interlude, which contrasts with the motif and turns away from destructive desires. The final section follows Lana as she slowly begins to redeem herself. However, she never quite returns to the purity she had at the beginning, still showing signs of sadness and regret in tracks such as Elvis, Melancholia and Pink Champagne. I was unsure about adding Bel Air at first, but I eventually decided to put it as the last bonus track, I imagine it as Lana finally finding peace after everything she's been through. Though it could be both a good and a bad thing, as she could have died in some way. But who knows? It's free for everyone to interpret. 10 Quote - I never felt unhappy - - Because I have been unhappy all the time -
Divineness Posted August 20 Author Posted August 20 was re-listening to Born To Die today and i remembered the @Hunny thread so... BORN 2 DIE - Basically the "OG" Born To Die, with the Martin Zähringer photoshoot as the cover and outtakes TRACKLIST 1. Off To The Races 2. Born 2 Die 3. Blue Jeans 4. Put The Radio On 5. Diet Mountain Dew 6. National Anthem 8. Radio 9. Dum Dum 10. Carmen 11. Video Games 12. Million Dollar Man 13. Without You 14. Dark Paradise 15. Summertime Sadness 16. TV In Black & White starting with this iconic trio, we know that these three songs actually sync together, but they are out of order on the album. Off to the Races has a string outro that transitions into the orchestral intro of Born to Die, which has a guitar outro that syncs with the intro of Blue Jeans. Thematically, it also makes sense because OTTR starts as a "romantic song", followed by BTD, where she realizes this relationship is doomed from the start. finally, BJ closes the sequence by telling him that she loves him forever, even after he's gone. as you can see, the second section is more hip-hop-influenced, featuring tracks that are more boppy and romantic. The third section includes songs about her experience with fame and being in Los Angeles (now i'm in LA and it's paradise & i'm a star child, big smile living in LA), with Carmen being a song about her early exposure to fame and its toxicity. Then, the fourth section brings those melancholic yet loving songs that have a slower tempo. lastly, the last section is the depressive side where Lana has lost her loved one. 8 Quote - I never felt unhappy - - Because I have been unhappy all the time -

I am in LOVE with this omg And yess the first 3 tracks I also been saying they transition to each other since FOREVER and it's lowkey crazy we both said/thought the exact same order of those 3 tracks Except that I have Dark Paradise on my list too cause I think Blue Jeans also transitions to Dark Paradise Lemme link mine: https://lanaboards.com/topic/22425-random-transitions-between-ldr-songs/#findComment-2117691 And omg reading that part of your post that I put in bold and just realized that even also lyrically Dark Paradise fits perfectly after BJ cause Dark Paradise is literally all about "loving him even after he's gone" So you should add it after BJ now Just kidding I really really love your tracklist and the 4 sections you explained 3 Quote
Divineness Posted August 21 Author Posted August 21 a lot people say that Lust For Life is way too messy and incohesive, so i decided to make a concept for it inspired by Marina's LOVE + FEAR. LUST FOR LIFE LUST Basically, she would've used the same technique for L+F, where she dropped the LOVE side first and then released the complete album later. TRACKLIST Disc 1 - LUST 1. Young And In Love - Demo 2. Lust For Life (with The Weeknd) 3. Serene Queen 4. Cherry 5. Summer Bummer (feat. A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti) 6. Groupie Love (feat. A$AP Rocky) - Alternate Mix 7. White Mustang 8. In My Feelings 9. Architecture Disc 2 - LIFE 1. Roses Bloom For You - Intro 2. Swimming Pool (LFL demo, slightly rewritten) 3. Coachella 4. God Bless America 5. End Of An Era 6. 13 Beaches 7. Heroin 8. Change 9. Get Free The LUST side gives us the dark, trap, witchy Lana, with the album ranging from sexy themes until White Mustang comes up, which is about her failed relationship with G-Eazy. In My Feelings continues as a raging anthem. Lastly, Architecture is a transitional song into LIFE, where she also looks back on him. Now, LIFE is her political, retro-futuristic side, where she reflects on the state of America during that time. Instead of mixing everything together on the same album, it’s separated. TNC, BPBP would’ve been moved to California (LFL B-Sides) along with Yosemite. 5 Quote - I never felt unhappy - - Because I have been unhappy all the time -
Divineness Posted September 6 Author Posted September 6 BLUE BANISTERS separating Lana's revenge arc and maternal themes TRACKLIST 1. Black Bathing Suit 2. Dealer-esque raging anthem #1 3. Dealer-esque raging anthem #2 4. Dealer-esque raging anthem #3 5. Dealer (feat. Miles Kane) 6. Thunder 7. Valley of the Dolls 8. Patent Leather Do-Over - Interlude 9. Text Book 10. Wildflower Wildfire 11. Watercolor Eyes 12. Arcadia 13. Blue Banisters there's not much to say about this one to be honest... it's basically the separation of the first seven defensive songs, and then the post-interlude tracks that focus on her family and autobiographical themes. 3 Quote - I never felt unhappy - - Because I have been unhappy all the time -
