eevee Posted September 3 Posted September 3 It's about time for us to have a Chiikawa thread Chiikawa follows the daily adventures of a timid little white creature named Chiikawa and their friends - Hachiware (the blue cat) and Usagi (the rabbit) as they work, eat, and survive in a surprisingly harsh, realistic world. Despite looking like a cute, colorful slice of life about tiny, adorable creatures, but beneath its soft and childlike aesthetic is a relatable story about growing up and getting through life. The characters have to work for a living, earn money, face failures, deal with fear, horror and uncertainty, while still find comfort in small everyday joys. On some occasions, Chiikawa explores on some mature themes, touching on the darker sides of capitalism, death, grief, and loss. Even its recent theatrical feature film has the storyline that touches on morality, revenge, guilt, and karma. Chiikawa embraces vulnerability, helplessness, and the idea that sometimes simply getting through the day is enough. That contrast between its adorable world and its very real struggles is what makes it resonate so deeply with young adults. Let's discuss about Chiikawa !!! 3 Quote
