Stove Posted September 11 Posted September 11 I love documentaries! I love both calm, slice-of-life type docs as well as the heavy, informational ones. And everything in between. I decided to make this thread because of some really interesting upcoming docs that have been officially announced just in the last week: You Can See Everything: “Thirty-four days before she's sent to prison, notorious Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes invites a skeptical film crew to document her every move. What begins as an intimate portrait becomes a mind-bending three-year journey.” NAZA: “Filmed at night from Tel Aviv rooftops, this investigative documentary examines the civilian casualties of Israel's military operations in Gaza and the systems behind targeted killings of Palestinians.” The History of Concrete: “A filmmaker applies lessons from a Hallmark movie writing workshop to pitch a documentary about concrete.” Musk: “A thorough and unvarnished analysis of Elon Musk, a technology billionaire who serves as the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter.“ What are your favorite documentaries? My top 3 would be Minding the Gap (2018), Paris Is Burning (1990), and Flee (2021) 11 Quote Tryin' to transmit, can you hear me?
blueskiesforever Posted September 11 Posted September 11 I probably watch documentaries more than I watch actual movies and tv shows seriously I can spend all day watching them. Here are a few that are worth a watch IMO: 13th Sunday Best The Thin Blue Line My Mom Jayne Bowling for Columbine 9/11 The Beatles: Eight Days A Week Any Ken Burns documentary 5 Quote Summer’s meant for lovin’ and leavin’
jimmyjimmycocoapuff Posted September 11 Posted September 11 I’m so soooo excited for You Can See Everything. I haven’t seen the proper Elizabeth Holmes doc (The Inventor), I’ve heard it’s not the best but I’ll definitely watch it beforehand. I don’t know if I can sit through a 4 hour Musk doc.. My fav doc is probably Grey Gardens. I should watch more honestly, probably missing out. 3 Quote
Beautiful Loser Posted September 11 Posted September 11 I’ve watched a documentary series on Muhammad Ali twice, I think it was by PBS, and it’s one of the best documentaries I’ve seen. He’s so inspiring, even today! Family, experts and people close to him were interviewed for it too. Absolutely top notch, you don’t even have to be a sports fan to watch it, believe me, it’ll inspire you anyway. 3 Quote ♥ Please spell out song acronyms, I can’t figure them out anymore. :’ )
An Ocean of Time Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Bowling for Columbine is maybe one of the most important 2 Quote

Some docs that blew my mind: The Perfect Neighbour Finding Neverland (truly shocking) Catfish (this introduced the word 'catfish' into the vocab many years ago) Exit Through the Gift Shop Amy Searching for Sugar Man Just to name a few. 2 Quote "Stove...
