drewby Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 SCORING To calculate the overall rating for the record, an A is considered a 5, C is 3, F is 0. The sum of the point values for each of the tracks is calculated and then averaged against the number of tracks. The overall album score per user is taken from that average. The overall score LB gave the album will be determined when all the values from each user are added and averaged against the number of people who ranked it that week - There was some confusion last time we did this which is why it's now A-F instead A, C and F - No half point or +/- values this go around - An A would be something you'd listen to again and again, a C is something you'd go to occasionally, an F is something you never want to hear again...I trust some of you can piece together what a B or D would be - Lastly, no more posting you're participating. If you want to do it, just post your track by track reviews and I'll aggregate it in the OP Poll will be up next Friday. 2 Quote
luckyonewithoutyou Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 So I'm guessing I'll be listening to Kacey Musgraves in the near feature 1 Quote
drewby Posted September 19, 2015 Author Posted September 19, 2015 By a 5-4 vote, Kacey Musgraves will be this week's selection. All three are fantastic records and deserve to be listened to independently 0 Quote
luckyonewithoutyou Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 I was concerned about rating a country album because I can not stand the overdone-cliche mess of many country artists now. But this album is actually very soothing and awakened my southern roots. High Time - A Dime Store Cowgirl - B Late to the Party - A Pageant Material - C This Town - C Miserable - A Biscuits - B Somebody to Love - A Die Fun - A Family is Family - B Good Ol' Boys Club - B Cup of Tea - A Fine - A I'm actually surprised at the diversity of themes and would absolutely recommend it to any of you on the fence about listening. 0 Quote

lafleursauvage Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 I grew up listening to country but turned away from the genre around 2013. I couldn't stand the bro-country/rap/pop garbage. That's why I listen to some country nowadays and Kacey is definitely on that list. I love her charisma and the way she crafts her music. if you guys like this album as much as you do, please, please listen to her debut album. 0 Quote
