I’m guessing you’re not into Lanas discog then 💀 I like lots of music pre 80s tbh- I just don’t get the velvet underground hype- the music was just not that great compared to their contemporaries- even Nancy Sinatra was putting out better albums with her covers.

Apparently the interview was done exclusively with them- so maybe she is changing direction from the dance album after all

The sun are quoting her as making a “rock” influenced album https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/22456416/charli-xcx-taylor-swift-rocker-boyfriend-george-daniel-album/amp/ But it might lead to a surprise for her fans, as she has revealed the move means she could turn her back on pop after a decade in the game to sound more like influential rock band The Velvet Underground.

People especially chronically online twitter gays give the Beatles hell but one thing you can’t say for sure is they didn’t put effort into their production- which is why I always find it crazy when people overrate velvet over them.

The velvet underground are sh*t tbh Nico and her racist, talentless frog voice can rot

Honestly charli set the bar too high with True Romance- her anxiety and self doubt created one of the best albums of all time and I don’t think she’ll ever come close to it for me. The lead up from great mixtapes to an amazing album was perfect. The way she improved on her songwriting for it aswell meticulously. The only way she could truly achieve a higher album would be to do an expansive concept album and to gain her vocal range back. but I’m content with her fun pop and experimental stuff of course I know she loves pop 2 more anyway

It’s all opinions but I can’t stand it and would honestly erase it along with half of charli from her discog

Okay controversial question-if you were to rank up Charlis discog next to someone considered a pop industry legend like Madonna, janet or an alt pop one like Kate bush how do you think she’d rank up?

I will say it was a choice to release click 2.0 😭 but forever was very refreshing and a nice change of pace

Yeah but music is subjective- do others opinions influence the way you view music that much? There’s always going to be people on here who get catty with classic shady gay lingo about embarrassing taste and etc Personally I find rateyourmusic a massive circle jerk

    Madonna

Likewise ray of light has amazing singles- Power of goodbye, Ray of light, Frozen(despite the cheesy lyrics….) and nothing really matters but outside of that all I like is candy perfume girl. it Surprises me on the acclaim it gathers but Bjork, Garbage and the trip hop scene itself did these sounds 4 years prior so it’s actually quite late to be considered “innovative”.

Hmm I’ve been listening to Ms material lately and I’ve got mixed views- I remember liking bedtime stories a lot so may revisit that. I don’t particularly like her albums in one go- I really wanted to like erotica in particular because of the concept but the music itself is quite dated to me and messy in retrospect - like a lot of work was put into the title track and the rest was just dance pop/ house tracks with little interesting ideas…. Surprised so many hate like a virgin because it’s still probably the best to me out of her 80s decade- her emotive performance on love don’t live here alone!
