  1. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2102331/Lana-Del-Rey-plays-diamonds-Lovecat-photo-shoot.html My second indulgence is diamonds. I have a jeweller in Brooklyn named Uri and he makes me all my custom gold and diamond pieces - grills, triple rings, etc.' Umm misinterpreted yah whatever
  2. Respects middle class, hypocrite Kanye West who is contributing to the same materialistic values, why not do it for free if there is so much respect going on, yeah whatever keep talking shit, I ain't listening.
  3. You started with your mess comment, you need to get your facts straight or apply for a job with the Daily Mail, might be good for someone like you, you know just talking shit to people.
  4. And you'll know that he hated most of the people that called themselves 'Nirvana fans' cause they had no idea where he was coming from. Seeing as he openly spoke on many occasions about living a modest life that wasn't focused on money, I reckon the only blind, misinformed 'fan' out of us is you.
  5. LMFAO that you don't know enough about Kurt Cobain to even make that comment. It's well known he turned down everything that he didn't want to be involved in, he really didn't give a shit about the money. So don't go around bad mouthing him when you clearly don't know shit, just cause you and Lana are shallow enough! There is no way he would preform at something like this even for $2.8 million. It's a bullshit report from the Daily Mail, she got a six figure sum of $200 thousand not a seven figure sum, makes her look even more desperate really and you clearly can't do basic math.
  6. you can't be arsed to find out for yourself before trying to call me out on my comments and you call me lazy. like you don't think anyone contributed to the lyrics on NA but you don't bother finding out before just letting that opinion fall out of your mouth. yeah I'm such a lazy fuck. conventional wisdom you speak of only exists on lana boards.
  7. @@Viva You seem to think I'm making an argument but I'm stating what I have read about the matter. Your argument is that unless you make a shed load of money in tours you don't get the funds to pay off a writer. So people like Marina and Ellie etc who also don't do massive tours but also have co writer/ghost writer, that's all a conspiracy also. No they are using unknown/ up and coming writers, it still works the same way. To claim Lana hasn't done any advertising is a joke isn't it. Try and be real about it and drop the holier than thou routine. I find it totally vomit worthy.
  8. I implied to search for it, I don't keep a collection of links handy. I don't get why it's such a touchy subject.
  9. WWW. The info on her being in development comes from a close family friend, the rest is various interviews with the other people involved
  10. pretty sure it was you, or you were having a stan moment you forgot about
  11. Don't you think that's an embarrassingly naive way to look at a multi billion-dollar industry? That's how it works there is an agreement made with the writers. Most pop today is determined by accountants and marketing people. There is very little creativity left as the majority of chart music is written by a small group of mostly male song writers who mostly write for female artists i.e. Katy Perry, Rihanna, Marina and the Diamonds etc... So who is the real writer? One really messed up example is the song ‘Somebody to love’ apparently written by Usher and Justin Bieber but then the writer Heather Bright stepped up saying how did Bieber get a writing credit on that song! She claims that this is how it works, this was in reaction to Britney Spears being attacked for not taking any song writing or co writing credits on her album Femme Fatale: "I would just like to address one thing! The media is talking trash about how Britney didn't write any of the songs on her album … HELLO! Wake up everybody! NONE OF THESE ARTISTS WRITE THEIR OWN SONGS!!!!!! (there are a few exceptions … lady gaga, will.i.am/BEP, chris brown is starting to write a lot of his own stuff … ummmm … and now I'm running out of artists). Anyway … here's my thing … and I feel VERY passionate about this issue. Britney could have come to me, like all these other A-list artists, and said … "Hey, you wanna be on my album? I'm gonna need writing credit for that song AND part of your publishing even though I didn't write anything! And then I'm gonna go on tour and gross $150 million in ticket sales and not give you any of that, even though I'm performing your song!" "I could rattle off a laundry list of artists who I've had that conversation with! And I'm on the other end like … "Oh okay … so you wanna rape me, but just with the tip?!" Turns out she didn't write the song either and the original writer is suing bieber and usher. You seem to be completely unaware that Lizzy has been in development for a long time, a close friend said she had been working with top producers and writers in Europe for several years, that's where all the early demos come from. I didn't say she didn't have any input she clearly does but not to the extent she makes out because there is enough information out there to contradict that. The comments about Justin Parker come from him so if you have an issue with him claiming rights to his creative input in the collaboration take it up with him but bear in mind she wouldn't exist without these people who she works with. You need to chill stan it's not a conspiracy just facts that are out there, it’s such a typical stan reaction “how dare you say that about THE QUEEN your opinion means NOTHING Lana could shit on my face and she’d still be THE QUEEN” why do I bother to comment when you get psycho stalker fans like you freaking out when anyone says anything slightly critical even when it’s true.
  12. this is their involvement broken down: James Bauer-Mein is credited for Co-Wrote/Vocal Production David Sneddon is credited for Co-Wrote/Vocal Production Justin Parker credited for Writing and Arrangement Penny Foster is brought in by A and R's from labels to work with their artists to co write and develop song lyrics, as well as help with vocal coaching and vocal arrangement. Lyrically, ride was written by Justin Parker and Lizzy Grant but she doesn’t openly credit him for this. The concept of ‘Born To Die’ was based on Justin Parker’s philosophy; you're born and then you die, in which he also goes on about the how your brain reacts electrically to music. It has to be said that there are a lot of people involved and for Lana to say ‘I wrote every word on that album except 1 or maybe 2 or maybe 3’ Is just her claiming she’s the creative mastermind in her own right but she isn’t, this is the agreement the majority of them make with the writers. The only people I really take seriously as creative musicians and writers are people who actually write their shit and just have 1 producer to produce the album rather than + producers, x amount of arrangers and writers etc but it doesn’t happen very often. That has always been how some of the best albums have been written cause it comes from one source.
  13. It was the KROQ radio interview. It's more than those two songs.
  14. No they are not on the albums only on the Copyright.
  15. He's not credited as 'author of lyrics' like the others.
  16. Daniel Heath and Emilie Haynie are credited for authorship of music and lyrics on Blue Jeans.
  17. James Lawrence Irvin and Timothy Elliott Larcombe are credited for authorship of music AND lyrics on This Is What Makes Us Girls. Why has she always got to lie about it.
  18. Wearing his trademark sunglasses and jumper in a tacky mag photo shoot don't make her Kurt Cobain either!

    Lorde

what she actually said was: "But I think the way in which I assert myself as not being about that stuff is by writing about it in a way that’s a bit less obvious and less cloying. There are a couple songs on the record about relationship-y stuff, but I make sure to write about it in a way that you don’t know if it’s a friend or a relationship, because that’s something that’s personal to me" I think you have completely misunderstood her and what she was saying, she didn't even mention the word boyfriend. It's clever writing she's being subjective in a complex way she's not spelling it out for you, instead she's using metaphors and sarcasm; because it is personal to her. She basically isn't giving it all away in a really simple story that has a start/end and that rhymes throughout; she's using free verse to tell an allegory. That doesn't mean she's not being honest but ...she is being a very clever writer, which is what I and clearly a lot of other people want to hear, I guess you're just not picking up on that!

    Lorde

What's naive is to believe that Lorde and Lana's label Universal would start a hate campaign when all they care about is profit, if it's turning a profit it's good for them, you really think they care about anything else. Lana had one of the biggest PR campaigns in history so if there really is a need for Universal to kill off Lana then it would be because she hasn't turned a profit. She sold over 4 million in two years so the problem would be she cost why more than they thought she would bring in. I'm not quite following that smoking, being an anti feminist female and spooking little girls is enough to make someone a political anarchist (sorry I just pissed myself), are you 12? Fuck Nirvana were feminists and political anarchists at the same time, shit did that just crush your linear thought process. Perhaps some of the people listening to Lorde relate more to what she is saying than they do to wearing diamonds on skid row and you're telling me I'm naive.

    Lorde

I don't agree with you but it's your opinion, I think Lorde is lyrically fucking amazing she's 16, only been writing for 4-5 years and is a real poet. Lana has always relied on anaphora and rhyming, that's as easy as flicking through a thesaurus to find words that fit with the meter; which makes Lana's writing cliché in terms of poetry. Whereas Lorde uses free verse, Walt Whitman was one of the pioneers of free verse and it was used by many of the great poets, particularly Allen Ginsberg. Lana has been writing for 10 years imagine what Lorde will produce in 10 years. It seems that she's getting a hard time purely because she is 16 and really talented. I think the reason people are falling for her is because she's raw, real and honest how can you negatively judge someone particularly a 16 year old for being that. She actually chose to work with Joel Little who was previously in a punk band and they have co written on the music of every song together as she is a musician but Lorde writes the lyrics. Yeah she clearly isn't hung up on image only which is mostly Lana's whole thing, get over it there's more to life that image. As for your theory on the hate campaign they are on the same label, Universal !!!
  22. Maeve Reilly is just her Wardrobe Stylist. Lana's sourcing new material for her writing. She's always said she needs to meet other people to get ideas for her songs and after recently admitting her 'well' is empty looks like she's looking for some new people to feed off of. Leading Just Jared to AA is Lana trying to keep up her back story in the media.
