  1. other than the obvious bartender melody resemblance at the beginning, i always felt like some of this song’s other melodies sounded familiar

i was listening to græ by moses sumney the other day and i finally realized that it is bystanders that reminds me of fingertips!

the part when he sings “gifted to see between astral planes, now you plead to be plain” sounds like “it wasn’t my idea the cocktail of things that twists neurons inside”

i still feel like i’m completely missing another more “obvious” song that has this melody, it really reminds me of smth for some reason and i don’t think bystanders is it

did anyone have the same thought and perhaps it figured out?

btw if u don’t know the album pls listen to græ, u won’t regret it imo

  2. this would be my dream setlist, i tried to make it somewhat realistic but i know that most of the songs i added have a 0% chance to be performed live

    intro - nature boy

    1. a&w

    2. old money + black beauty + young and beautiful (medley)

    3. shades of cool

    4. tulsa jesus freak

    5. cherry

    6. pretty when you cry

    7. ride (with monologue)

    8. get free

    9. mariners apartment complex

    10. born to die

    11. blue jeans

    12. west coast

    13. ultraviolence

    14. candy necklace

    15. honeymoon + terrence loves you

    16. norman fucking rockwell

    17. blue banisters + arcadia + the trio

    18. high by the beach

    19. doin’ time

    20. summertime sadness

    21. chemtrails over the country club

    22. the grants

    23. white dress

    24. off to the races

    25. diet mountain dew

    26. brooklyn baby

    27. taco truck + venice bitch

    28. love song + cinnamon girl

    29. video games

    30. ocean blvd

  3. this is the only order in which i can appreciate and listen to “born to die”:

    1. born to die

    2. off to the races

    3. blue jeans

    4. video games

    5. diet mountain dew

    6. carmen

    7. million dollar man

    8. national anthem

    9. radio

    10. without you

    11. dark paradise

    12. summertime sadness

and i would consider these as bonus tracks:

    13. this is what makes us girls

    14. lolita

    15. lucky ones

  4. i’m kinda getting scared that i accidentally got the wrong ticket (like for disabled and they won’t let me in bc of that or put me in a seat while i want to be in the pit)

i feel like the website was so unclear and now i’m getting paranoid cause i still can’t believe how i managed to get this

if the ticket says “mojo presale regular” and it’s 78€ that’s the standing one right…? please tell me i didn’t fuck up

  5. did u know that there’s a tunnel under ocean blvd:

    1. the grants

    2. ocean blvd

    3. a&w

    4. judah smith interlude

    5. candy necklace

    6. jon batiste interlude

    7. paris, texas

    8. fingertips

    9. kintsugi

    10. tbh i would rename grandfather into smth like “three white butterflies” or “three white butterflies to know you’re near” just to keep it long as lana likes

    11. let the light in

    12. sweet

    13. fishtail

    14. peppers

    15. taco truck

(margaret should have been on chemtrails imo, or easily just not exist at all)

  6. 1. honeymoon - because of how well it sets the mood for the whole album and how iconic the opening quiet and sexy creepy ass strings are. lyrics and everything else is also so fucking perfect

    2. nfr - like honeymoon, but just less captivating and charming. still super beautiful but in a different way, less dark so less “interesting” to me

    3. white dress - just an amazing and iconic track thanks to the vocals especially. putting the whole album itself aside, this song as an opener is really a vibe

    4. the grants - if i think of it as an intro in the context of the album more than a proper full song i really like what it transmits

    5.  ride - not a big fan of it but definitely has big opener energy

    6. cruel world - just a bit repetitive imo, love the mood it sets though

    7.  born to die - iconic i must admit but not exactly my thing unfortunately. a bit overplayed along with ride

    8. text book - i like it but it’s a bit weak

    9. love - one of my bottom 4 lana songs ever (along with coachella, let me love you like a woman, breaking up slowly and maybe even lust for life). i don’t care about it at all and find pointless for it to exist

and if i had to include kill kill as well then it would be after white dress

  7. i really enjoy each song individually (with a few exceptions) and i like the concept and narrative of the album as a whole. even though it has different sounds and themes, it has a specific journey that makes sense (at least imo)

but tbh the only “issue” for me is that to actually manage to go through all these moods within like one hour i literally have to be in a psychotic vibe

and that’s not healthy at all even tho it can kinda make me happy

i just find myself listening to some songs of the album in a random order and that’s it

and this is the order in which i like listening to it:

    1. the grants

    2. ocean blvd

    3. a&w

    4. judah smith interlude

    5. sweet

    6. candy necklace

    7. jon batiste interlude

    8. paris, texas

    9. fingertips

    10. kintsugi

    11. grandfather

    12. let the light in

    13. margaret (skippable, could have been on blue banisters after cherry blossom)

    14. fishtail

    15. peppers

    16. taco truck

also imagine the serve if the jon batiste interlude was more polished and was merged into candy necklace as an outro…

  8. Spoiler

ok the album is out in my country and…. i’m at fingertips now and i have to say i’m very pissed about the weird unnecessary ugly censored “mother”. like wtf why would anyone think that’s a good idea. kinda ruins the whole thing for me tbh, idk how i’ll be able to listen to the song without wanting to tear my ears off during that part :notamused:

....alright, since i'm going to the listening party tomorrow - i have decided that i will listen to the leaked album in full once by myself tonight to have my own experience before the collective one tomorrow. i need to know what im preparing myself for

    any songs make anyone cry??

    Spoiler

i didn’t cry for any but to be fair i hardly ever cry, and even if i do it’s just like a tear or two, but i can still feel very emotional and some songs really did struck me

kinda more like they gave me goosebumps but i guess you could very easily cry to these if you’re a crier:

-the grants. the last lines, when she gets more specific about her family. that really got me.

-sweet. just the way she expresses her wish for love, simplicity and sweetness hits so hard

-kintsugi. obvious reasons, i think anyone could cry to this lol my time will come soon for sure

-fingertips. literally every single lyric and note she sings, with the orchestral background, if you listen properly you just get it

-grandfather. “god if you’re near me send me three white butterflies”

What's your favorite runtime on the album? mine is Paris, Texas → Margaret. :crai:

    Spoiler

mine is candy necklace - jon batiste interlude - kintsugi - fingertips…

literally 3 of these are in my top 3 and tbh even if i don’t see myself listening to the interlude on its own i really enjoy it and i think it really fits within the album, especially after candy necklace
