listening to KiCk i right now!! will edit with my opinions omg so excited

do you wanna taste? okay i'm just gonna quote with my opinion hehe

ok this project is so cohesive it's hard to separate the tracks into separate concepts,

but here's my ranking of the tracklist based primarily just on my taste:

    1. la chiquí (feat. SOPHIE)

    2. time

    3. rip the slit

    4. machote

    5. watch (feat. shygirl)

    6. nonbinary

    7. calor

    8. mequetrefe

    9. riquiquí

    10. no queda nada

    11. KLK (feat. ROSALIA)

    12. afterwards (feat. bjork)

it's a great album i don't hate any of the tracks, the only ones i kinda didn't vibe with as much

as the rest of the album were the last 2 on my listing (the bjork collab was def a lil disappointing

but i think it's a cute extension of their musical universe). honestly, shygirl, bjork, rosalia, AND

SOPHIE!!! appearing on the same album is iconic enough on its own. i love hearing arca's

attempt at a more pop structured sound, she is so damn creative ugh

  3. you really had to scroll up and find receipts on me huh

skskdjsk it was a page ahead. i always read a couple of the most

recent pages when i haven't been on here in a while, had 2 do it to ya

    :eartha2:

  4. Because they’re fans and would like her to release more material?

    Her catalogue is rather small.

there's a clear distinction between "omg can't wait for her to release more music"

and "wow she's so lazy this mixtape is gonna suck why doesn't she do more"

it's natural for fans to crave more from an artist. just be respectful. is it that hard?

  5. sweet, but now i am reminded of how little music she makes and probably won't get to hear anything new for another 4/5 years

why are y'all being so negative? can you let the woman live skskdjsk

you're not entitled to anything she does or makes just enjoy as it comes

  6. She posted about a former black cop who was killed by looters and people bullied her. She also showed respect for canine soldiers and people bullied her for that. Sad lol.

nobody bullied her. they criticized her for sympathizing with military (dogs) and cops, and not posting about BLM enough when it first was gaining heat online.

and her "apology" was basically "i believe in peace <3 don't hate me #blm" and people were not satisfied with that. she's a fake, imo.

  7. uhm OP needs to make this an official thread and make it look pretty for these girls.

the fact that they didn't have a thread on this site already is weird...... TUH! but yea

ungodly hour is another beautiful release from them, they're super talented xoxo

  8. why are all the alt girls working with jack it's actually annoying. i don't know

how her writing style is gonna blend with jack but fingers crossed, i guess

  9. Can’t tell if this is sarcasm or your honest thoughts, but I can say that I don’t think he bought her career. I don’t even think it’s possible to do that, even for someone richer than him. Anyway, none of that old gossip is really relevant to my question.

it's absolutely possible to buy someone a career in music, lmao but i'm not commenting on whether or not lana's was bought (honestly don't have an opinion bc she's talented, either way).

@on topic: i think it would make her a much more interesting person, yes. i think the stories she creates are really cool so for her to have the actual life perspective of someone who went through those things would make her so much cooler (and a better performer in general tbh).

  10. y'all are some haters fr damn

joyride: 8/10 one of the best songs on the album, easily. the production is dope asf and the melody arrangement is unique.

this functions excellently as an intro track for this album, too. that breakdown for the bridge "don't stop lookin at me" ooo bitch !!

not to mention that outro with the violins. it's a very well designed song and prepares us sonically for most of what we'll hear

no drama: 6/10 it functions fine as a single, but i'm still just not that impressed by this song. if i'm in the mood to get hype

then i can properly enjoy it. not a bad song at all but it's not a great song either. the offset feature is such a miss for me, like no.

he don't want it: 6.5/10 bitch i really dug the high pitched augmented vocals. we know this won't be performed live lmaooo

but at least we can enjoy it here. i don't like how short this track is bc i feel like there's so much room to do more with it.

ooh la la: 7.5/10 i'm not super impressed with the lyrics from this track, but i love the production and the melody choice. i can

tell that this one is going to grow on me, simply because it has such replayability. it almost makes the next track bearable.

me so bad: 0/10 such trash. i'm sorry it sucks even harder within the context of the full project. french montana can CHOKE.

stuck with me: 5.5/10 i like little dragon's contributions to this track, and i think it's a fun take on a more contemporary

version of this track. however, something about is reading like a reject kiiara track and now that's all i hear. it's something

in the way the hook cuts those vocals. it's not a bad track but again, it's just not great.

salt: 7/10 some of her better lyrics on this project. they just seem more personal here and i love the slow burning aura of

this track. that chorus is very catchy and heartbreaking. she's trying to act bad, but then there's that moment of

vulnerability in "don't throw salt on the wound" like she knows she's actually hurting from this all and it's not so easy to dismiss.

faded love: 5.5/10 i still think it's one of the better singles, but the novelty has worn off for me and this track. i still think

the hook is fun, but like always with tinashe, there's this level of self-awareness at trying to be contemporary and it's cringey.

no contest: 7.5/10 this song is reminiscent of something off nightride and i love it. i think that tinashe functions best within

the space of dark, spacey rnb. this track is another one of the better cuts from this project, lyric and production wise. it's

serving me a little kelela as well (in a good way) so i'm living for that. i wish we could get more like this from her ;-(

fires and flames: 6.8/10 i think this is a sweet way to end the project, and some of her best vocals are on this track, despite

them being auto-tuned quite a bit lmao. i can really feel the lyrics on this track as well. i wish she had made all the tracks as long as this one.

overall, i give the project a pretty light 7/10. it could have been better but she did serve a few excellent tracks. this project could

have been longer as well, in my opinion, as tinashe's deeper cuts are typically her best songs. i wish we coulda got some more.

  11. yeehaw the new single sounds great so far (music video seems questionable, if it's what i think it is im not having that shit), seeing her live this summer and i'm hyped

what do you think it is?
