Idk, that's kind of the new trend. Alessia Cara just did it, too. Test the market and make a quick introduction to make sure a full album will pull in success. And in the case of Troye, his label knew that he had some selling power. So as long as plans hadn't leaked before the EP about a full length, the labels knew fans would buy the EP then feel obligated to buy the LP because they liked what they heard. And in other terms: money

I've been too busy with school to write a solid review, but here's a half-assed review of Revival. 3.5/5 http://auralfixationreviews.blogspot.com/2015/10/revival-selena-gomez.html

Went to Target for some shopping and tried to buy Revival, but they were sold out (including the back room stock). Apparently she's only slaying in my area because her predictions for US sales are only running at 85-95k

She revealed to Billboard magazine that the short end to her Stars Dance Tour and blackout was due to lupus diagnosis and chemotherapy treatments, btw: “I was diagnosed with lupus, and I’ve been through chemotherapy. That’s what my break was really about. I could’ve had a stroke. I wanted so badly to say, ‘You guys have no idea. I’m in chemotherapy. You’re assholes.' I locked myself away until I was confident and comfortable again.” http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2015/10/08/selena-gomez-reveals-she-has-lupus-underwent-chemo/73571220/

I've listened to it twice through. Not a bad album at all, but not extraordinary. I definitely liked more of it on my second listen, so maybe it'll get even better with replays. Good For You is still the best track by far.

I just got done downloading the file from Soundcloud that is all one track, but you the real MVP fam

I discovered her through Troye and she SLAYS. Uh-huh is my favorite.

Okay wait I've wanted to order that for a few weeks now -- does it at least look good from afar?

I made that mistake with a Lana shirt from there, so now I just try to pull off the oversized tee look

Another applicable saying, then: Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. You don't deserve more or less credit than any other artist. You convey yourself as a distinguished, struggling artist who writes everything from the heart and soul when you talk about your artistry, but carry yourself as just a "random person on the Internet" when it comes to dealing with criticism. Once you release something and expect people to watch it, you're no longer exempt from criticism. And considering your reaction, criticism isn't something that you seem to handle well.
-
you can't say "first of all" when you pose only one point in your statement. No, I'm not out to protect princess Halsey from the big bad monsters that are the Internet and Lana Boards. But by definition, irony is "a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result." I just thought that your comments about Halsey mimicking Lana's style seemed ironic considering your own musical style rips every page out of Lana's playbook, too. I would expect the pot who "stole" the same exact imagery/Tumblr aesthetic lyricism/sound wouldn't call the kettle black. There's nothing wrong with being an artist that is clearly a product of a post-Lana Del Rey world, but don't try to discount artists that you share a market with. Trash Magic's comment also gave me a laugh, given his crude history of going into threads and commenting "trash" or some other catty comment like a good little stan does. But once the comments change aim from established pop artists to homemade producers, suddenly identical comments made to both parties are unacceptable only towards the kid who makes music from his bedroom? If you're going to talk the talk, at least walk the walk alongside it.
-
"numerous" as in two and one of them was on a status that you were making snide remarks about Halsey... which is once again ironic. You can't play the victim when you're also the instigator.
-
how ironic The one for Halsey takes the cake by far tho

josepvinaixa has it labeled as "final version," so I just went by his word. Either way, this is my first time hearing it in this quality
