  1. Maybe. Or maybe she used it because it rhymed. lol Next to blue, Lana’s usually singing about June/summer. I don’t think I’m going to buy the poetry book.
  2. It’s most likely a poem. It lacks consistency with me. The first few lines are going great, then you’re hit with, “instead of carriages we have Tesla mom cars”. Maybe it’s not supposed to be that serious, but it’s not something I prefer.
  3. Superstar is great. Yeah, the lyrics aren’t as complex as her previous work, but I don’t mind it. I love both the production of HH and this one. I can tell it’s going to turn off a lot of people, but it’s been 4 years and I get with the headspace she’s in, she wants to go in a more light-hearted direction. Anyway, I’m here for it.
  4. People on here complained about UV back then??? The tragedy. NFR really has the potential to be one of my top favorite albums, maybe enough to sit next to UV, but this mess compared to other eras.... :|
  5. Thought I was the only one who didn’t find the guy from WM that handsome. Hmm... does the LFL album trailer count? It was really good, especially compared to Honeymoon’s constant reusage of clips. We’re probably going to get the same reused clips compilation for NFR’s trailer...... if there will even be one......
  6. I doubt this since I got the impression she went to Jesse’s and MGK’s studios to record the songs with them. So that leads me to believe whatever they recorded is in the hands of their team, not hers, so it’d be a bit of a hassle for her to get the songs for her own record, change it up a bit and have her own input on the production since she’s now very particular on that when it comes to music on her albums. I used to think HIADT- back when it was still Sylvia Plath- would turn into something else like 13 Beaches. Still love the song, but let’s just say it’s better to have no expectations... lol
  7. Already been done before, but wanted to give my own rearrangement of the tracklist + the non-PW produced tracks on sweetener: 1. raindrops (an angel cried) 2. imagine 3. God is a woman 4. needy 5. make up 6. NASA 7. breathin 8. fake smile 9. ghostin 10. in my head 11. bad idea 12. 7 rings 13. break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored 14. no tears left to cry 15. bloodline 16. thank u, next 17. goodnight n go I said it before, I wasn't an Ariana fan, but thank u, next is a fucking great body of work to be done in less than a year. It's solid and I think Ariana found her sound and something she's really comfortable with. Shit, even my husband says he's starting to really like these songs whenever I play this album around him.
  8. Idk what it is (prob bc NFR is such a weird era so far with the lack of promo), but I really really want the trailer for the upcoming season! I’m usually patient, but it’s getting close to April and I’m a bit anxious about GOT. The trailer is probably coming in a few weeks, but the random teases- especially the recent one where Arya sees Dany’s dragons and smiles!!! I can’t wait!
  9. BTD (P): Lolita, Pulp Fiction, Sucker Punch, Romeo + Juliet UV: Kill Bill Vol. 1 + 2, Goodfellas H: The Virgin Suicides, The Great Gatsby LFL: Across the Universe, Almost Famous
  10. We’re not mean, we’re just honest. And sensitive. lol
  11. I can hear what you’re saying. Also the melody she sings in Cinnamon’s chorus reminds me a bit of her humming in Summer Bummer.
  12. Ever since I realized they had 10 years of working with her, I’ve gotten more annoyed with the fact that criticizing them or asking legitimate questions gets you insults and backlash. If they want to give attitude simply because we’re not kissing their asses, then I’m not buying the poetry book. Fuck a festival tour too if that’s all we’re getting. I’m fed up.
  13. Jimmy Gnecco (fits the vibe of having my first love, when it was cute and innocent) You Can Be The Boss (chill, slick at times, also reminds me of when I was a bit more adventurous) Kill Kill (mysterious) On Our Way (what I envision as a perfect love song) Every Man Gets His Wish (restless, jaded, but hopeful)
  14. Ben and Ed act like they didn’t have a decade of working with Lana to figure this stuff out.
  15. @ are you the person Ben told to “go into management since you’re such an expert”? Because Ben was being a condescending asshole when it was a legitimate question. Also, I know it’s a big job to do, but acting like you’re above criticism when your client is not getting their act together to push their art? Imagine thinking that we can’t criticize them because we’re not experts in their line of work? I know he’s got to feel defensive rn, because of all the comments he’s getting rn but.... Ben is a jerk.
  16. Same. I hate to confess it, but I don’t care for streaming... because... idk what the point of it is when I can just buy the music that I want to keep. Lol
  17. Saw a comment on his post saying “if you listened to Lana, you’d know that those songs weren’t for NFR” in response to that guy calling out Ben. The lack of info still has her fans confused. Lmfao Anyway, given the fact that she’s quiet, she recently went back to the studio with Jack again (maybe she’s decided to add more songs to NFR), and the terrible roll out it’s been I guess we can confirm our guesses as to what happened.... 1) MAC and VB was to distract from the Israel performance scandal 2) In her interviews, Lana figured she could release the poetry book (JAN/FEB) then the album (MARCH/APRIL) since she said multiple times that they were both close to finished. She just needs to figure out how to publish the book. Thinks she can release an October single too, because again she thinks she’s done. 3) October comes around, she live-streams with Jack in the studio, finishing up a song. She teases Cinnamon, How to Disappear, Happiness is a Butterlfy, and Sylvia Plath (possibly deciding which would be the next *official lead* single?). She shares pics of her collaboration project with Gucci. Collabs with MGK and Jesse Rutherford. Performs HTD and VB at the Apple event. 3) November she goes to the Gucci event; Chuck films her and others. She spends more time with friends and family. NOV through DEC, she’s taking time for herself, writing, then realizes *being Lana* she wants to make changes and add more songs (maybe more poems for her book too?). 4) Beginning of December, she goes to the British Fashion Awards looking iconic. End of December, she teases In Your Car (doesn’t confirm what the name of the song is). Lana live-streams, says her album is done, but she might reshoot the cover since she was lazy in doing the original and her manager didn’t like it. 5) January comes around, and she decides to finally release Sylvia Plath (which was meant to be released back in OCT) but changes the name. In the clip, she’s on her typewriter (maybe confirming she was still working on the book while making decisions on what to release). The single cover might of shown us the effort she must’ve given with the original cover her manager didn’t like. Gucci Guilty campaign is released. 5) Lana goes back into the studio with Jack. Confirms in GG interview there’s now 13 instead of 11 songs on the album. 6) Now, near the end of FEB, Ben confirms there’s no official release date. So Lana made the mistake of not realizing the things that would halt her from actually finishing the album because of the poetry book, and her tendencies to go back to her work and rework them. I think it’s the same as how it was behind the scenes with LFL, but this wait has been much longer. The earliest I can see NFR coming is April, but given the festival dates, it’s probably coming this summer.
  18. I’ve been a fan since BTD came out and I think I can agree for the most part that some fans are like this, but personally I long for those days, pre-Honeymoon, for different reasons. Despite all the controversies, I thought Lana was heading in the right direction musically with Ultraviolence and I was excited to hear for what was to come. Her abrupt change from going to interviews and events to becoming more low-key and releasing Honeymoon (which is not ranked high on my fave albums list) really put me in a weird place as a fan, because it felt like her personal life (whether it was Francesco or the continuous toxic friendships/relationships we didn’t know about) probably took a toll on her and stunted her growth. LFL solidified that idea for me. Although she came back into the spotlight again, and she seemed enthusiastic about her work, there was so much indecisiveness and sloppiness that bled into the finished product. I consider LFL her weakest work, so for the first time, I was really anticipating the next album ASAP to forget the mess and in a way hope that it would motivate her get to that state of mind she wanted in Get Free. I didn’t want to be those fans who complain each year, who say her previous work was “better”. I actually really love some songs on my less fave albums. Idc how she looks on her days off as long as she’s healthy and happy. But this time, it’s just... different. Now with NFR, the writing is great, she’s working with someone new and that’s great, but she’s so quiet and doesn’t seem as enthusiastic about her work anymore. At least not to me. And her choices (Hillsong, the new group of friends) don’t give me good vibes. She could be too comfortable, it could just be growing up and changing as a person, it could be her working through her denial of how depressed she actually is or isn’t, who knows... All I know is that I sort of feel like I’ve lost a bit of enthusiasm for her work because it’s just not the same anymore. It’s not always about the glamour, what gets me spending my money on an artists’ work is their passion and talent coming through in their work. That’s the spark that I miss. *sorry if this is too long and dramatic btw, I hope I explained this okay lol*
  19. Feeling more indifferent.... Sucks too, because I really wanted NFR to revive that love I had for her work before Honeymoon. That’s just me, personally. Oh, well....
  20. This is how I wish it was released: Lust for Life (The Woodstock Edition) (LFL) 1. Lust for Life (feat. The Weeknd) [maybe with the original arrangement it had in the demo] 2. Yosemite 3. Cherry Blossom (Interlude) 4. Love [with better production and rerecorded vocals] 5. God Bless America - And All the Beautiful Women In It 6. When the World Was at War We Kept Dancing 7. Beautiful People Beautiful Problems (feat. Stevie Nicks) [with better production and rerecorded vocals] 8. Change 9. Tomorrow Never Came (feat. Sean Ono Lennon) [replace bridge lyrics with the demo version of it] 10. Best American Record 11. Heroin 12. Get Free (EP) 1. 13 Beaches 2. Summer Bummer (feat. A$AP Rocky) [Playboi Carti was unnecessary] 3. Groupie Love (feat. A$AP Rocky) [replace some of the weaker lyrics] 4. Cherry [with the production we heard in the V Magazine snippet + without the cringey "bitch"! "fuck!" part) 5. White Mustang [with better production and rerecorded vocals] 6. In My Feelings [replace some of the weaker lyrics] 7. Chelsea Hotel No. 2 (feat. Adam Cohen) 8. Roses Bloom For You [with the vocals she served us in the first snippet she shared]
  21. The more time passes, the more I think this (my worst fear) will happen. I’ll probably be indifferent though. It’s sad, but if more people react that way instead of praising the bare minimum, she’d probably take this more seriously.
  22. Lana realizing 3 months later that she still has to release NFR
